Catalogue Sneak Peek | Mini Catalogue inspiration

It's that time again.... Mini Catalogue time, and my favourite mini - Christmas! I just love making cards for Christmas, may be it is the glitter and bling? And for some strange reason I am fascinated by "a white Christmas" not that I will see one in Australia (unless we are talking about my serious lack of a tan... hahaha). So with a white Christmas in mind I've created a beautifully shimmery tree as the focus of my card using the Whimsical Trees stamp set (pg 25 of the mini catalogue). The detail of the trees is just gorgeous as the light catches the silver embossing, likewise the sentiment from Heartfelt Wishes (pg 57). Do you recognise the background? It's from Artistically Inked! I added a touch of Just Jade & Magenta Madness to the Misty Moonlight for a bit of "northern lights" feel to the sky. Be sure to continue through the hop and see more creations from the July to Dec 2021 mini catalogue, next up is Lori Willcox from Canada. Thanks for vis

Hand-Penned Petals for GDP301

What to do on a cold, wet & windy day..... get snug and creative of course! It's not like I have anywhere to go, we are on day 4 of a 7 day snap Covid lockdown, on the plus side it is still looking promising that we will return to level 4 restrictions early next week, here's hoping! At first I didn't know what I wanted to create, lots of new mini catalogue items, but I didn't feel Christmassy, so my next option..... flowers with the colour challenge at the Global Design Project I decided to create a border arrangement using Hand-Penned Petals, stamping 2 of the clusters then cutting with the coordinating die. I added a layer of cardstock to the right of the 2 clusters of flowers, leaving the edge of the die cut images exposed to the card based, I cut a couple of the leaves that were underneath the bottom cluster and positioned to the left hand side to give more of a splash of Coastal Cabana. After heat embossing the sentiment I cut it on a slight angle before positi

Stencilling with Blending Brushes

Welcome back crafty friends, I'm back today with a technique that you are bound to love - using Blending Brushes with Decorative Masks (or you may refer to these as stencils). I had a few weeks with "lots of life things" - school holidays, reacting to my Covid injection (I was feeling really unwell for a number of days, I'm all good now) and a trip to the emergency room for my husband (a bit of a scare, things should be under control now he has medication and is being monitored) - so I have been a bit all over the place, last night I had a clear head decided to refocus on my creativity and get into my "happy place". I had a some items from my last order that I hadn't tried out - the Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks were just calling out to me. This is one of my favourites from last night session - a mix of Highland Heather, Costal Cabana & Balmy Blue. It's sooooo pretty, and sooooo easy to create; just attach the Decorative Mask (stencil) to y
