Butterfly Sympathy

Where did that last week go? How is it Sunday already? I think I am having crafting withdrawals, so whilst a load of washing is doing it's thing I pulled together a quick card. Whilst we don't like these occasions, it is good to have a Sympathy card on hand. I've incorporated the Well Written framelits into my design today, I really like the mix of stamped and die cut sentiments, it adds an element of interest. I did think about adding a die cut butterfly, but decided to keep things simple. The background was super quick, #loveitchopit to the rescue with the Botanical Butterflys DSP. I based the Whisper White layer on the size of the diecut and coordinating stamped sentiment, found the perfect Rectangle Stitched Framelit, then all that was left was to stamp the butterfly and edges using the Beauty Abounds set. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month. If you live in Australia and do...

Well Said with Climbing Roses

What to do on a lazy Sunday..... play with new stamp sets of course, but where to begin? When I don't know where to begin I find that a sketch challenge can be just what is needed to make images fall into place, and that's what happened when I looked at this weeks Global Design challenge I knew I wanted to use the Climbing Roses Bundle, and wanted to incorporate the the beautiful die cut, here's what I was inspired to create from the sketch I used the die cut to act as a trellis, layering it on top of the large floral arrangement coloured with Stampin' Blends, then coloured and die cut smaller flowers and foliage to layer on top, then used the Well Said stamp set for the sentiment (an amazing set with 51 sentiments & phrases to choose from), lastly splattering a little Crumb Cake and Old Olive with an Aqua Painter. With thanks to the GDP sketch I've created my first project using the Climbing Roses bundle from the Occasions catalo...

International Blog Hop | Thinking of You

Welcome to this month's International Blog Highlight, our theme for September is Sympathy.  It is a really sad time when our friends and family lose someone they love. As paper crafters we have a wonderful gift of being able to let them know that we are thinking of them by taking time to make them a very special card or project to show them we love them and are thinking of them during their difficult time.  I've created the below card using the Colorful Seasons stamp set, capturing the essence of caring with the simple sentiment "Thinking of you" Using a Sponge Dauber I applied Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz to the solid stamp for the small leaves, and heat embossed the sentiment with Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder. I heat embossed the outer layer of the card with Copper too. The copper Trim used for the bow is so unique - you can keep it as a "solid" ribbon like I have around the card as well as tease it out like I ha...

Freshly Made Sketches #194

I have been thinking of taking part in challenges for a while, I thought I would give this one a go.  The inspiration is from Freshly Made Sketches I decided to use the flourish from Everything Eleanor, the sentiment is from Petite Pairs, I tried ribbon, but it just didn't work for me.   Thank you for dropping by Sue
