Hello there my crafty friends, I have a treat for you today - a technique video! I love, love the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks, and for my 2 for 1 creation I have used the masking technique to overlay the flowers - so much fun, it did take a little longer than I thought, but I think you will agree the finished cards are well worth the effort. Hello everyone, it's a new month, so that means it's time for the Color Fusers Monthly Blog Hop! This month, our creations will feature Azure Afternoon, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie. I thought this combination would be perfect for a fun masculine themed card, I've used the sentiment from Charming Sentiments . I've used Alcohol Inks (Stampin' Blends) on Vellum for the background - I tried a few backgrounds and picked my favourite - no 2 backgrounds will ever be the same with this technique. I worked out Pumpkin Pie didn't blend well with Azure Afternoon - things got a bit murky! The sentiment is stamped on the card front, with the vellum overlaid - I used a dauber to apply my glue sparingly before placing the vellum so as to not have any "wet marks" from the glue show through. Hi there crafty friends, today our hop features techniques for water colouring. I'll be honest, back in my school days I was more of a fan of oils than watercolours; but I still dabble with a bit of water colouring here and there with cards when the mood takes me. Today I thought I would try the "no line" technique, I really like projects I've seen, so here's what I managed to do: I stamped the top of image from the  Full of Love  stamp set (I didn't ink up the envelope in the image) in Sahara Sand multiple times, my ink application was a little uneven - maybe a little too dark in places when I review the finished project, and I think it may also have been easier if I had chosen an image with larger flowers for my first attempt too - all food for thought when I use this technique again in the future. I coloured the flowers using Polished Pink, Highland Heather, Parakeet Party, Daffodil Delight and Balmy Blue, adding some splatters of Sahara Sand & Balmy Bl...

Happy weekend crafty friends. I've used one of my favourite techniques to add a pop of colour to todays card - Masking. I started by stamping my image, then coloured the daffodils - I used Stampin' Blends, you could also use watercolour pencils. Then I cut a circle from a scrap piece of cardstock and positioned over the stamped image (masking the remainder of the card front), then lightly applied Balmy Blue to the circle using a Blending Brush. Next I added Soft Sea Foam to the leaves, only colouring to the edge of the circle.  Then I stamped the sentiment and added Holiday Rhinestones for a touch of bling to finish. today I thought I would share a quick tip with you that I used when making yesterdays card. My mum taught me "waste not, want not" when she was showing me how to lay out patterns when dress making (she never purchased the suggested amount of material, always less), and this tip is how to make the most of your card stock when stamping items when cutting with a coordinating punch. Step 1 Grap a piece of cardstock and make a template for the punch - I store this in the case with the stamps for future use. Step 2 Using the template as a guide, position the coordinating stamps and push onto a clear block Step 3 Stamp the image on cardstock. In this case I only stamped and punched the flowers as I wasn't using the leaves in my finished project. You can stamp the images multiple times if you are making lots of the punched item, this can also save a lot of time! Step 4 Now all that is left to do is Punch!
