Lovely You - just because

Hello crafty friends, I'm joining the colour challenge at CC&S today - I haven't done one of these for a while, but when I saw pink.....  I'll be honest, I haven't used much Melon Mambo for some time, Polished Pink has been my "go to" hot pink, and Crushed Curry would be one of my least used colours in my Stampin' Up! palette.  I mixed up the stamping of the flowers from the Lovely You stamp set , then cut with Layering Circle dies , and cut a coordinating Scalloped circle. I varied the layout of the circles on the card front to break the symmetry of the card design. Next I cut and layered strips of Melon Mambo and Shaded Spruce to the card base, then attached the card front. The sentiment is White heat embossed, and layered onto scraps of the challenge colours. Both the dies and stamp set are soon to retire, so get them before they are gone. I was also shocked when I realised my favourite scalloped edge die from Penned Flowers is retiring too. You c...

Just Because Stitched Greenery

Hello crafty friends, I'm back today with a card using the new Stitched Greenery background die. It's the first time I have used a die like this, and it won't be the last! How gorgeous does it look!!! If I didn't know better I would have thought has the card stock been stitched with an embroidery sewing machine. I double layered edge die from Scalloped Contours to add a complimentary element to the Fresh Freesia stamped sentiment and Flower Flourishes. A simple layout but made very effective with the stitched embossed background. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the products I used below, just click on the picture and be taken directly to the product.  I truly appreciate your support, it inspires me to keep crafting and helps to keep my blog and YouTube channel running. If you live in Australia and don't already have a Demonstrator I'd love to be yours.  Stitched G...

Lovely You | Birds & Branches

This card has been over a day in the making, I've had to listen to my body which happened to be saying "I need rest, no crafting", oh how I can't wait to be back to my normal self.  All that aside, I am really happy with my finished card, I'm surprised I didn't loose my mojo with all the "tools down" recesses. I started by using blending brushes with Pear Pizzazz to create a rough circle in the bottom of the card, then die cut to create my window layer.  I added a little Balmy Blue to the upper edge of the green, then a hint of Crumb Cake in the bottom left corner, then stamped the sentiment from Lovely You . I was undecided with the look, so added some splats by randomly flicking my Crumb Cake and Balmy Blue Stampin' Markers. My bird is stamped with Crumb Cake and..... ugh Flirty Flamingo! (it was supposed to be Blushing Bride), then just a smudge of Balmy Blue to the wing and head - lucky for me I stamped off once before stamping with Flirty Fl...

Birds & Branches Fun fold

Hi there, I promised that I would show you more from my class last weekend, this card focuses on used dies, or in this case a border die to dress up your z-fold. I've used the Birds & Branches Bundle with Blushing Bride, Soft Suede and a touch of Crumb Cake. After cutting the z-fold base, I then lined up the border die to the diagonal cut, and created the decorative edge - I needed to do 3 cuts with the border die to get the pattern across the full length of the card.  How different does it look compared to using vertically on the edge of a card, a definate WOW factor in my books. Next was stamping the birds, using Soft Suede as the main colour with Blushing Bride body and then Crumb Cake on the wings. After cutting the decorative cirlce image for the front of the card, I used my Layering Circle dies to cut it firstly to a circle then layerd a whisper white circle under the Pear Pizazz before mounting on a scalloped circle. The sentiment if from the Lovely You stamp set. Then a...

Stampin' Up! Lovley You for a cherished friend

I found some new challenge blogs today, and this design is courtesy of the sketch at CAS Colours & Sketches . I love sketches, they are a great way to keep your creativity on a roll. I took the sketch quite literally, here's what I was inspired to create. I used the Lovely You stamp set for this creation, and my trusty sponge daubers - I do wonder where I would be without them some days.  I used 3 stamps to create my flourish, stamping the leaves in Pretty Peacock and the flowers with Highland Heather.  I used the daubers to ink up the stems, then if need wiped the ink from the flower, then applied Highland Heather with a dauber for the flower. For the circle element, I created a mask, then used a soft brush to put a light coating of Seaside Spray, then added a hint of Balmy Blue in the centre. Lastly adding a sentiment and Rhinestone Jewels for that touch of bling. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips...
