Miss Pinks Craft Spot

It's another hot weekend in Adelaide.... so the perfect opportunity to just sit in under the air conditioner and craft... I may even have done a bit of craft room organisation too! So once my desk was clear I was ready to create, but no!!!! a craft blank - so over to challenge pages for inspiration, and Just Add Ink had a sketch that took my eye and I was on my way. I love flourishes, so the sketch had me..... I had a plan, but.. gasp, my Botanical Butterfly DSP was cut the wrong way, so I've taken the liberty to flip my design. Using the Foliage Framelits I created my version of the flourish in the sketch, adding a layer of white under the main die cut and slightly weighting the foliage towards the bottom. By matting with Pear Pizzazz and Basic Black it calmed the busy DSP. Ever had a plan for a project and it turns out totally different? Well, that's what happened with this project I CASE'd for the Crazy Crafters special guest Patsy Waggoner - you may be familiar with her blog Stamps to Die For , there are lots of beautiful creations, here's the card I chose to CASE (copy and selectively edit) My plan started on track, stamping using the Floral Frames stamp set and cutting the circular floral image, stamping and layering the sentiment, then stamping and cutting flowers.... my ideas was to stamp images on the background and layer with a couple of framelits..... But as you can see I got a little side tracked with the coordinating Foliage Framelits , so instead of stamping I created a monochromatic background with die cuts - base stamping on Soft Sea Foam, Pear Pizzazz die cuts and an Old Olive card base, with Powder Pink flowers. I think where my plan changed was when I used the Embossing Mats , I couldn't...

Hello again! I find my card today gave me a sense of calm, Mint Macaron with Petal Pink, Tranquil Tide and Rich Razzleberry - all colours from Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper . I've CASE'd this myself today, I have created a few floral cards with striped DSP previously, and really like the effect, so I've done it again :) The arrangement is courtesy of the Floral Frames Bundle , and to create the embossed details on the leaves I used Embossing Mats - such a great effect! Why stop with detail and texure at the leaves.... I embossed the Whisper White background with the stunning Subtles embossing folder , it is amazing how much this little bit of texture can change a card. To make the small flowers pop I grabbed my Stampin Write Marker and coloured the centre and added veins to the petals, and lastly added some Faceted Dots . Happy Friday everyone! It's that time again, the monthly Ink it! Stamp it! Design Team blog.  Our theme this month is the "New Annual Catalogue" squeal! such an exciting time of the year, I can' wait to see what the rest of the team has to share with us. I'm featuring the Floral Frames Bundle and the Tufted 3D Embossing Folder - when I saw this folder it was straight on my wish list, and I'm not disappointed, it is just stunning! I am so in love with Tufted! It adds a touch of elegance to this project, and with such a minimal effort - what more can you ask for. I stamped with 2 new colours from the revamped Subtles collection - Sea Foam and Petal Pink. I stamped first image in Sea Foam, then fussy cut, then stamped the flowers using the indiviual stamps and die cut, adhered, then added a little bow for a touch bling with Silver & Petal Pink Baker's Twine (another item that was straight on my wish list) Thank you ...
