Party with Cake | #WWYS76

Welcome to WWYS, this week we are featuring the Party with Cake stamp set. The variety of sentiments in this set mean it can be used for much more than birthdays, and the little candle and sprinkles can be used to create you own personal DSP too! Today I decided to focus on the Cake element, I somehow missed ordering the Copper embossing powder, but this week it was in the order I received, so i thought, hmm, I wonder,... chocolate icing? I decided to use Blushing Bride with Chocolate Chip to create an elegant and feminine card for something a bit different - I've used bright bold colours when using this set before. The background of my card is embossed with the Confetti Textured Impressions Embossing Folder , the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies  nestle perfectly! Then I created the Chocolate Chip stripe by using the Layering Squares Framelits Dies .  Come along and join in the fun with Party with Cake  - to see all the great projects from the Design Te...

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop | Special Guest Dena Rekow

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop, this month we have Dena Rekow joining us as special guest.  If you have never visited Dena's blog - The Creativity Cave , be sure to make you way over and you will find so many inspiring projects and tutorials. I love Dena's touch of quirky humour in her tutorials, there is always something that puts a smile on my face. As I was scrolling through the Creativity Cave to decide what project to CASE (Copy And selectively Edit), I decided when she nailed me with her below creations - I'll admit it, I'm a DSP hoarder,.... I have every intention and so many ideas in my head, but it's just so pretty I don't want to cut into those lovely sheets! What caught my attention with these cards was how Dena used thinlets to showcase the DSP.  Here is my take on this technique:   I faced my usual fear as I cut my It's My Party DSP ! I layered onto Basic Black and Crushed Curry, the small stars are cut ...

Let's Party! Playful Pals

Who wouldn't want to party if this little guy invited you? I've had this guy cut out and arranged for a while now, just didn't know when I would use him.  The Playful Pals set is full of endless possibilities - I've used 2 stamps to create his cute little feet, then cut out with the framelits.  The sentiment is stamped from the Party with Cake set. The layout of this card is based on this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge: Below are the products used to create my project: Remember if you use the current Hostess code displayed at the top of my blog at the check out and you will be eligible for a Thank You gift for for shopping with me  - Learn more  here  - be sure to click YES that you allow me as your demonstrator to contact you in your account settings otherwise I won't be able to forward your Thank You gift.  I would love to update you when I create a post! Party with Cake..... and a surprise!

My Birthday themed project today has cake balloons and more!     The layout of the front of the card is inspired by this weeks Global Design Project I chose 2 of the sentiments from the "Party with Cake" set from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue, then used my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig to assist with lining them up.  Centre stamp is also from the same set, and I have used my Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to give that lovely shimmer on the icing on the cake.   Now for the surprise - the Happy Birthday Pop Up -  isn't his just great!  There are 2 designs for the Party Pop-up's.  I used sponge daubers to colour the image after I had run it through the big shot, and finished off the inside of the card with It's my Party Washi Tape    You can purchase this Stamp Set and thinlet dies as a Bundle and save 15%, and if your total purchase is $90 AUD you will also earn a free item from Sale-A-Bration!  How good is that, w...

It's Your Day! Hip Hip Hooray!

Today I am continuing to celebrate the beginning of a New Year - Hip Hip Hooray! I just love the It's My Party DSP - it is so bright and cheerful.  I just love the co-ordingating colours Mint Macaron and Melon Mambo, and today decided to have a play with Crushed Curry - not my normal scene, but never the less I had a fun time making this celebration card. The sentiment is from the Party with Cake stamp set, but wait there's more; there is a special surprise just wait to pop up and cheer you on when you open this card! How gorgeous is this - its the new Party Pop-up's thinlet die - so easy to use and gives your card special something!  I also used some It's My Party Washi Tap to soften the edge of the card. The featured Stamp set and Thinlets are available as a bundle from January 5th - not long to wait til you can get your hands on all the amazing new products in the 2016 Occasions catalogue. I'm also playing along with Cas(E) this Sketch!  wi...
