Howdy crafty friends, todays blog hop is featuring "Stand alone Dies". I know that I love when a stamp set has coordinating dies, but we also need dies for basic shapes, and to honest at times these dies are the heroes of our projects - my "go-to" die sets for are the Stitched Rectangle Dies & Stylish Shapes Dies, today I chose to highlight the  Stitched Rectangle Dies . I selected the 2 dies that are the same width, and cut into a piece of Hues of Happiness DSP . These dies look fabulous on this sheet of DSP, there is a linen look texture through the design, reminding me of oil paintings. I also cut a matching set in Night of Navy and adhered to the DSP die cuts. Next I stamped my card mat using the largest flower from the Happiness Abounds stamp set with VersaMark ink - this gives a lovely effect that breaks up the background, yet doesn't over power or clash with the DSP. Let's put a positive spin on the beginning of the week with a quick card made with Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper - yours FREE with qualifying purchase during Sale-a-Bration. Speaking of Sale-a-Bration, due to supply delays in early January, here in the South Pacific Sale-a-bration shop, host, and join  has been extended til 16 March at 11:59 p.m . (AEDT). This Designer Series Paper is super cheerful, you get 48 sheets: 4 each of 12 double-sided designs,and comes in a 6" x 6" (15.2cm x 15.2cm) size. I used the Stitched Rectangle dies to cut the DSP, then mounted on Basic white cardstock that was approx 2mm bigger, then attached to the card base. The Hello sentiment comes from the Forever Fern stamp set - I got creative and used the smallest stitch rectangle, passing through the Stampin Cut & Emboss machine twice to re-size to fit the sentiment (not sure if it was more luck than skill as it resized perfectly!!!) Hello and welcome to the Stampin Friends Blog Hop, today our theme is " Life's Special Occasions". We will be sharing projects that celebrate the start of a new year of upcoming special occasions such as an anniversary, birthday, wedding, baby as examples. I decided to use a bundle from the Annual Catalogue that I haven't used yet - I was missing a baby stamp set in my collection, had lots of ideas for All For Baby , but got side tracked with other projects - but not today! I wanted a background for my item of baby clothing, and choose a design from the Abstract Beauty Specialty Designer Series Paper , there were 2 reasons I was excited to purchase this DSP - it is already cut to 4" x 6" (10.2 x 15.2 cm) and that one side of the paper has an element gold shimmer. I stamped the clothing image in Balmy Blue to coordinate with the DSP, then used Light Balmy Blue alcohol marker and a Colour Lifter to emphasise the overlapping panel on the jumpsuit. I stamped ...

It's the weekend, and that means some crafty time, so while enjoying OnStage I squeezed in some time to create with my new box of goodies that arrived yesterday (woot - nice thing to come home to on a Friday). Ever since I saw the Best Plaid Builder Dies I was mesmerised, but they always seemed to not quite make my list... now I am thinking why did I wait, they are amazing! I used this weeks Global Design Challenge for my colours, adding Flirty Flamingo as my "free choice". This is actually a "no ink', it is 100% made using dies! Playful Alphabet dies for the sentiment, and Stitched Rectangles for the sentiment panel and to resize my plaid creation, and I couldn't help but add a little touch of bling with some rhinestones too.
