Crazy Crafters Blog Hop October 2015 - Fun Folds

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop for October. This month we are excited to show off some amazing fun folds. We hope you find great inspiration from our projects. I love Fun Folds - don't be put off by thinking that they are difficult, a lot of the styles are quite simple and give lots of "bang" with not much effort at all. This is an example of a Centre Step Card - 2 cuts and 4 folds is all it takes! I thought a step card would be perfect to showcase the lovely trees from the Wonderland Stamp set in the centre of the "step". I added texture by placing the top of the stamped image in the Softly falling TIEF, using the area that only has minimal snowfall.  the image still looked plain compared to the rest of the card, so I added some gold embossing to the trees. I also decorated the inside of the card by embossing another of the stamps and placing in opposite corners to bring all the elements of the card together. Note to se...

Festive Flurry - Card Makers Choice SIP16

When I saw the Card Makers Choice at Stamp Ink Paper today, I knew what I had to do....... I fell in love with the Festive Flurry Stamp Set last year when I was surfing Pinterest for Christmas Ideas; sadly it is now retired, but I was lucky enough to get my hands on the set a couple of weeks ago, so when I saw this challenge I thought it fitted perfectly. I cased the 3d snowflake from a card that Amy Koenders made back in 2013 - I just love it I have used Bermuda Bay with Soft Sky for my card, and embossed with the Softly Falling TIEF, the sentiment is from the Wondrous Wreath stamp set, there is a touch of Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the embossing too. Thank you for visiting, come again soon!   For those that live in Australia - you can go shopping for all of your supplies to make this card at my online store (with the exception of the Festive Flurry set as it is now retired). Just click on the pictures below to add them to your shopping cart. If ...

Flurry of Wishes - Neutral Theme

How exciting, "Case the Designer" is the theme for the Global Design Project this week. If you are not famililar with this type of challenge, you basically get to choose what inspires you on the card provided and go from there, eg Colour, Stamp Set, Layout, Theme etc There are so many elements to choose from, I decided on Colour for my inspiration/challenge as Neutral tones - something I haven't done before, but with the familiarity of the Wondrous Wreath stamp set: Here is the card that Louise Sharp provided for our inspiration this week: I purchased the Wondrous Wreath Bundle as my first SU Bundle - I love it.  It is so easy to use, and I had never thought of using neutral tones until I saw Louise's card. I made a card similar to this several weeks ago in frosty Christmas colours; but WOW, I was blown away by how this turned out in Neutrals. I opted for gold embossing on the berries and  added some gold cording trim to suspend the wreath ...

Wondrous Wreath - Merry Monday #169

Traditional Christmas colours is the theme for Merry Monday - regardless of where you celebrate Christmas reds and greens always bring along Christmas Cheer!   I chose Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive and Real Red for Debbie's challenge, and I used the beautiful Wondrous Wreath bundle:  I decided to do an Easel Card for something a bit different - I just love how it turned out.   I layered the front of the card with Old Olive and Real Red being very mindful os where my fold would be, the wreath didn't like quite right on this so I cut a circle of Very Vanilla and mounted the wreath on top of it with dimensionals, "Joy" is cut from Real Red and I used then new fine tip glue pen to adhere it.                     I used Old Olive to stamp the sentiment on Very Vanilla, and Pretty Petals DSP on a section of the base of the card - I cut a section with large framelit used to cut the wreath.  I popped the littl...

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop August 2015: Stamp-a-stack using a Stampin' Up! Bundle

Welcome, this month we are featuring the amazing Stampin' Up! "Bundles".  What an incredible product combination they are - so easy, and so versatile.  I had my eye on the Wonderful Wondrous Wreath bundle from the moment I saw it in the catalogue when I joined, after all who can say no to saving 15% when you purchase Bundled items; so when our theme for this month was announced I had the perfect reason to put my early Christmas order in!   I was pleasantly surprised at how easy inspiration came once I opened up my stamp set and framelits dies.   The  Wondrous Wreath  stamp set is photopolymer, which makes it so easy to layer colours and images, cutting is so simple to by using the framelits - I found it is easier to cut the inner part of the wreath first, then it was easier to align the stamp, then cut the outer edge of the wreath.  I've used traditional Christmas greens and red, I also used my "Simply Scored " (anot...
