Floating away with Tropical Chic

How quickly time goes by, it's another All Star Tutorial blog hop already! I'm always looking for new techniques and ideas, and follow a number of paper crafters -there is always so much to learn and seeing one project can open up inspiration for another.

Have you ever seen a project and just had to give it a try? My creation today is a inspired by all the Floating Frame cards I have been seeing, I just had to make one,.. but I was soon to discover that it wasn't going to be easy, search as I did, the wonderful Press & Seal still remains illusive to me here in Australia, whilst there is a Costco in Adelaide, it's a long drive so we don't have a membership, likewise the online options I located are just not cost effective, so I came up with an alternative approach for my card - my solution = a floating card front!

The first phase was to find a stamp set with medium to large die cuts, I opted for my one of my favorite sets, Tropical Chic, then to stamp and die cut …

Delicate Lace with Magnolia Lane

Well hello Saturday! What a long week that was, so happy to creative today, it feels like it's been ages! To get me in the mood I went to my favourite challenge blogs for some inspiration, and I chose this sketch:

For today's creation I've mixed some old with the new - Delicate Lace edge dies with Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper. I decided to turn the sketch on the side, it seemed to show of the lovely flowers better.

This DSP is just gorgeous, a mix of floral and stripes all using a beautiful colour palette - yes, it did have me with pink, but honestly if you replaced pink with a purple or yellow it would still be an amazing DSP.

Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month. If you live in Australia and don't already have a demonstrator I'd love love to be yours.

All Star Tutorial Blog Hop

Not only is today the monthly All Star Blog Hop, but it is also the launch day of Sale-A-Bration and the Mini Catalogue, wow what a busy day!

Do you ever get caught up in the detail, and before you know it hours have past and all you really wanted was a quick card? That is me all to often, but today card came together quickly and it's perfect for a masculine birthday event too!

Who would have thought with just a strip of Birthday Bonanza Designer Series paper, a sentiment from Bonanza Buddies (from the new Mini Catalogue) you could have a gorgeously masculine card in a jiffy!

I raised card front layer using some corrugated embossed cardstock for a little mow impact, the DSP is adhered directly to the card base, here's the side view

Lastly add some sequins to celebrate the happy day = card is complete!

Yes, it's a simple design, but less can be more on some days, hahaha (I don't have many of those days when it comes to card making).

Live, Laugh, Love with the All Stars Tutorial Team

Welcome to the February 2019 All Star Tutorial Team blog hop, I hope your are ready for some crafty inspiration from all around the world.
I've used the lovely Ribbon of Courage for my design today - the sentiment has hit a cord with me as I've been working through a series of events in the past few months, and made me think.... whilst times can be difficult, we need to remember to Love, Laugh and Love every day, as it can make all the difference.

To highlight the sentiment I've surrounded it with love - I love layers, and arrangements of die cuts, I'm really happy with the Melon Mambo/Shaded Spruce colour combination. Rather than use DSP, I've used the Subtle embossing folder for my background, and created a frame using the largest oval Stitched Shape Framelit and a smaller plain oval.

I hope you've enjoyed my  creation, be sure to work your way through the list below to see all the amazing creations  from the All Stars team, don't miss out on any of these bl…

Today I'm sharing an adaptation of the emboss resist technique using the Bokeh stamps from the Beauty Abounds Stamp set.

I've always wanted to give the Bokeh technique a try, but I know I would fuss way too much with the positioning of the dots so when I saw these bokeh stamps I thought I would try to create a back…
