Sparkle with a Rainbow Unicorn

The sun is out the birds are chirping, and for the first time in almost a month we have heating in our house, oh what a beautiful day!  Even with the sun out, there is still a chill in the air, so with the heating on I organised my craft area and got ink to paper.... well, lots of ink, a rainbow of colours in fact! I used a sponge dauber to apply the ink to the stamp, starting with Lovely Lipstick at the top working my way down to Gorgeous Grape at the bottom.  I used the Stamparatus to apply one colour at a time, and then where needed touched up the blending to have a nice transition of colours. I also stamped the edge of the card base using the "swirly stamp" before layering the unicorn image, and repeated the process on the inside of the card too. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month. If you live in Australia and don't already have a demonstrator I...

Seaside Notions with Stampin Friends

Welcome this this month's Stampin Friends Blog Hop, it's a "Summer theme" - my friends in the northern hemisphere are enjoying the sun, s ummer feels like it couldn't be further away for me, you see our heater broke 3 weeks ago, I am counting the days til our air conditioning get replaced and I don't need to have layer upon layer to feel "not cold". Summer = Beach = the Seaside Notions stamp set in the new catalogue! I only got it a couple of weeks ago, I'm in loving the hand drawn look of the images, and thought I would put it together with a water colour background. For something a little different I've used clear blocks to create my water colour background - this technique is so much fun and easy to boot too, it's a win, win. Here's a stop motion clip of how I created my card and the oversize chocolate block belly band using the Clear Block Background  technique: How cool is this technique, not to mention...

Introducing Seaside Notions

Wow, where does the time go! It's been a super busy week, at my day job & at home,.... and it's the 3rd week with out heating, my mojo needed some thawing, so I set up a portable heater right next to me chair in my craftroom to see what would come of it - and I'm pleased to say it worked, here is my first creation with the Seaside Notions stamp set, new in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue. This is a one layer card, with simple black ink stamping, but not dull or boring to the eye, and yes I did add some shimmer and bling, but that's me and you could easily leave of the splatter of Shimmer Paint and Glitter Enamel dots if it's not your thing. Here's the steps to make this card: Mask a section in the middle of the card. Sponge a mixture of Mint Macaron, Bermuda Bay & Pacific Point Take the card into the kitchen, run the tap and get a little water on your fingers, then "flick" the card front - as the water dries it draws...
