Crazy Crafters Blog Hop | Special Guest Tracy May

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop, Tracy May from the UK as our special guest.

I have been a long time admirer of Tracy's work; I first came across her beautiful creations on Pinterest, and now regularly view her blog Bedlam and Butterflies. I love her water colour backgrounds and have decided to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) that element, here the cards that have inspired my today:

Helping Me Grow from Stampin' Up! Tracy May #PP297Fabulous Flora from Stampin' Up! Tracy May #GDP036Pop of Paradise from Stampin' Up! with Pop of Pink DSP Tracy May #CCMC409

I also share Tracy's love for Pink, so I have used the new 2016-2018 In Colour Flirty Flamingo as the feature colour of my card, here is my creation:

There is a bit of a story behind this card,.. I excitedly unpacked my latest order on Friday evening, there is Pop of Paradise, hello Miss Flamingo - I have plans for you! then I became a bit perplexed when I had everything out of the box... it appears someone forgot to order water colour paper.... oh No! what to do!  Then I remembered Shimmery White card stock it doesn't mind getting wet, so I've used that as an alternative for watercolour  paper, and I must say I do quite like shimmer on my finished card.

I still wanted my flamingo to be the feature of the card, so I did a "reverse water colour background" leaving the centre of the card untouched with the Flirty Flamingo watercolour coming in from the edges. I used a sponge dauber to layer Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo to obtain depth of colour on Miss Flamingo with a touch of Crumb Cake on the beak.

Thank you so much for joining us today for this amazing blog hop we love having you come along and be inspired by our guest and how we interpret her cards. I would love it if you could pin my cards! CASEing is so much fun, we can all have fun doing this with each others work and inspire each other to make amazing things!

    1. Shimmer card is fine with water, it still curves a bit, but when you layer it is fine :)
