Woot, it's Friday already here in Australia, what better way to kick it off than with the Tutorial Teams monthly blog hop.
I'm using the Winter Woods stamp set again, and have created a subtle scene in wintry colours using one of my favourite techniques.... masking
I created a card similar to this last year, it's quite simple to do - first die cut an oval in a scrap piece of paper, layer this over your card stock to create the "mask", then stamp your image, then I applied a light layer of Pool Party ink with a sponge dauber, working from the edge of the oval towards the centre (remember "less is more" when sponging a background, you can always come back to add more depth in colour, but you can't take ink back!).
Then remove the mask and stamp your sentiment, I decided to heat emboss in silver, then added snowfall with the Softly Falling embossing folder, lastly I added a touch more bling by "shimmer spritzing" with Frost White Shimmer paint - I just love this stuff!
