Ink it! Stampit! Blog Hop - Using Embossing Paste

Welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Blog Hop. The Design Team have been busy making projects using specific techniques. The full line up below will guide you through all the projects and we'd love to hear from you on what your favourite technique is.

Once you know a technique you can use it over and over again, for example I can't image card making without the masking technique, it is almost second nature to me lol!  I am still working on water colour backgrounds, and using bleach just scares me silly.  Today I am sharing a project with you using Embossing Paste - a new product in the 2017-2018 Catalogue, it's great way to add colour and texture to your project in your own custom way!

Now if you know me, you know I love a little bling, so I stepped up my project to include glitter

I will admit that this didn't turn out quite to plan, I spritzed some coloured water onto the paste, but my colour was to diluted to make a difference to the colour of the paste, but never fear, glitter to the rescue - it looks fab even without the touch of green I was trying for in the background!

I used the Beautiful Bouquet Bundle for this spectacular bunch of flowers, wrapping Berry Burst Finely Woven ribbon around the stems and attaching the bow separately. There are 21 framelits, so no fussy cutting with this bunch!

Here's a quick video tutorial of how I used the Embossing Paste for this project:

Some key things to remember when using Embossing Paste:
  • try not to leave little bits around the top of your jar, it will dry out
  • a single drop of colour goes along way - remember less can be more!
  • you only need to apply a light coat over your stencil
  • wash your stencil and palette knife as soon as possible
  • it drys quicker than you think

There are LOTS of different ways to use Embossing Paste, you can also create your own stencils, or if you are really adventurous you don't even need a stencil - I have a plan to use glitter emboss paste on Christmas Trees, stay tuned to see that!

Thank you so much for joining us today. We hope that you'll join us again next month to see our 3D projects. Be sure to hop around and see all the great techniques we have to show you, you are currently at Sue Vine, see the list below to see who is up next.

  2. Gorgeous card, so pretty with the sparkle. We did the paste at our stamp club the other night and it was so much fun. The best part was how fast it dried.

Thank you for everything Hues of Happiness

Hello crafty friends, I'm using one of my favourite layouts today with the simply gorgeous Hues of Happiness DSP . I decided to make the card using Pool Party cardstock to complement the blue flowers in a bed of purples, I think it turned out lovely. I added detail to the card front by using the Scalloped edge from the Scalloped Contours Dies , and heat embossed a sentiment in silver from the Color & Contour stamp set .  To finish I added a touch of bling with Rhinestone  Basic Jewels . Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month. I’ve listed the products I used below, just click on the picture and be taken directly to the product.  I truly appreciate your support, it inspires me to keep crafting and helps to keep my blog and YouTube channel running. If you live in Australia and don't already have a Demonstrator I'd love to be yours.  Hues of Happiness DSP Scalloped Contour Dies   Color & Cont

Color Fusers Blog Hop May 2023

Hello everyone, it's the beginning of a new month, so that means it's time for this month's Color Fusers Monthly Blog Hop! This month, is all about the new 2023-2025 InColors! There is also a colour refresh, so lots of new colours are on there way, but today I am super excited to try out Moody Mauve, my favourite from this group. I've done 2 tone stamping so you can see first and second generation colours of Moody Mauve using the Two-Tone Flora stamp set, as well as blending the ink on to Moody Mauve cardstock using a Artistic Mix Decorative mask . As you can see Moody Mauve is stunning in both a pastel (2nd generation stamping) as well as full depth. I've combined with Basic Grey...... I may have done a booboo with my pre-order and missed Pebbled Path; but based on the sample of Pebbled Path I have, it would be perfect companion for Mood Mauve  To finish I added "thanks" from Sentimental Park , and some Basic Rhinestones for just a touch of bling. All Star Design Team - Lighter Than Air

Hello crafters, a new month, means a new bundle from the All Star Design Team. This month we are showcasing the Lighter than Air suite  from the Mini Catalogue. The All Star Design Team not only design a Tutorial Project that’s exclusive but we also each design an additional project to share here for further inspiration. Like my tutorial, I've featured the Designer Series Paper for my card - this paper is sooooooooo pretty! Pastel yet bright, it's a win win for me. The Hot Air Balloon bundle is fantastic too - stamp your own balloon's and die cut in your choice of colours, and detailed dies, the possibilities are endless! Lighter than Air Inspiration Below is a sneak peek of what’s in store with this month’s Bundle. You’ll see my teaser in the bottom left of the image.  There is more inspiration from the Team within this Blog Hop and another twelve designs in the  Bundle this month. Color Fusers Blog Hop June 2023

Hello everyone, it's the beginning of a new month, so that means it's time for this month's Color Fusers Monthly Blog Hop! This month, our creations will feature the new pink - Bubble Bath, the returning Pretty Peacock, and Pool Party. I decided on the pastel approach, I began with creating my background with a paper stencil cut using the cloud die from Basic Borders , working from Pretty Peacock to Pool Party and finishing with Bubble Bath towards the bottom of the card, moving the stencil a little each time so as to not have identical clouds in a line. I was excited to try a creation with the Beautiful Balloons Bundle - I traced the outside edge of the balloon die then blended each colour, leaving the right hand side a little lighter, the inked up the "detail" stamp for the balloons just on the left and stamped.  Once die cut, I then stamped the ribbon and sentiment, before mounting the balloons with Dimensionals . Be sure to continue on through the rest of t

Color Fusers Blog Hop January 2024

Happy New Year! It's a new month, so that means it's time for the Color Fusers Monthly Blog Hop! This month, our creations feature Parakeet Party, Daffodil Delight and one of my old favourites Melon Mambo! What a bright and bubbly combination, so I decided to create a "Feel Better Soon" card - I'm seeing a number of friends posting on Facebook that they have come done with Covid, so this will be perfect to lift their spirits. I've used a new stamp set from the up coming catalogue released in a couple of days " Painted Lavender ", and not with a hit of purple in sight! The layered sentiment from Wanted to Say Dies is perfect for this design - and I finished with some Bakers Twine.
