Dressed to Impress with Just Add Ink #524

Hello crafty friends, I've got a gorgeous slimline card for you today, inspired by the colour challenge at Just Add Ink and my friend Carolina Evans.

As soon as I saw these colours I headed to the Dressed to Impress stamp set, and with these gorgeous "me colours" I went with a slim line design so I could stamp a few more images.

Isn't the colour combination just beautiful! I haven't really used much (if any) Merry Merlot before, but it perfectly complimented by Rococco Rose and Mint Macaron, there really wasn't much for me to do, except add a little bling, a girl always needs a little sparkle.

To soften the card base I stamped the flower with VersaMark ink, it gives a lovely delicate feel to the design and doesn't take you away form the main stamping in the card.

I utilised the Stitched So Sweetly dies for the scalloped edge masking the join of the 2 two rectangles with the sentiment dies.  I adapted my slimline dimensions to fit the Australian standard DL envelope:
  • cut an A4 sheet (21 x 29.7cm) of card stock at 20cm, making your card base 21 x 20 cm,
  • score at 10 cm, the front of your card now measures 21 x 10 cm.
  • the piece of remaining card stock just needs 2mm cut from the bottom to make the perfect layer (see above inside of card).
That's it, 2 cuts, a score and a fold, and bonus layer ready too!

All Star Tutorial Blog Hop

Not only is today the monthly All Star Blog Hop, but it is also the launch day of Sale-A-Bration and the Mini Catalogue, wow what a busy day!

Do you ever get caught up in the detail, and before you know it hours have past and all you really wanted was a quick card? That is me all to often, but today card came together quickly and it's perfect for a masculine birthday event too!

Who would have thought with just a strip of Birthday Bonanza Designer Series paper, a sentiment from Bonanza Buddies (from the new Mini Catalogue) you could have a gorgeously masculine card in a jiffy!

I raised card front layer using some corrugated embossed cardstock for a little mow impact, the DSP is adhered directly to the card base, here's the side view

Lastly add some sequins to celebrate the happy day = card is complete!

Yes, it's a simple design, but less can be more on some days, hahaha (I don't have many of those days when it comes to card making).

Say it with Stars... Happy Birthday

I've had a crafty orientated day today in between weekend household chores, after delivering catalogues, and in between multiple loads of washing & cooking I played with part of my So Many Stars bundle..... being the Stitched Stars dies (23 in the set, spoiilt for choice, woot!)

These dies were perfect for the Global Design Project theme this week:

I started by stamping my birthday sentiment, then placed 3 of the star dies (the 3 smaller detailed stars) in position and ran through the Big Shot, then re-positioned and worked by way along the edge of the card, cutting 7 in total - perfect for a rainbow of colour.

I used 2 of the stitched stars to cut the colours, then placed them behind the card front and popped up on dimensionals, lastly mounting the card front on a Thick Whisper White card base, and there you have it, a fun Children's birthday card!

Peony Garden All Star Blog Hop

Happy Friday and welcome to the new look All Star Tutorial Team. Today we have more projects featuring the gorgeous Peony Garden Suite.

After a few crazy busy weeks at my not so 9 to 5 day job, some colour therapy was needed; I find colouring relaxes me and helps me unwind, how about you?

I used light & dark Highland Heather & Old Olive Stampin' Blends, then added Light Pool Party around the edge of the images - all the time using the Color Lifter to help blend the colours to my liking.

To finish I added a strip of Basic Black cardstock and some black ink splatters. Continue through the list below to see more creations from the design team:

Celebrate Sunflowers

I can't believe it's October, another month has gone by, on the plus side we are closed to the end of 2020, and a new All Star Tutorial Bundle is available. This month we are showcasing the Flowers for Every Season suite, I've been using the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle for my creations.

I made this card with a recipient in mind, so that's why the non traditional flower colour theme, but to be honest I think it looks great. I purposely left some of the die cut pieces in the flowers to an extra hint of Coastal Cabana contrast to the Bermuda Bay background.

I used a Stampin Marker to underline the sentiment, and of course I had to add a little bling, just a hint of Metallic Mesh Ribbon behind the banner and some shimmer paint for the centre of the sunflowers.
Be sure to continue through the list below to see more creations from the Flowers for Every Season Suite from the design team:

All Star November 2019 Blog Hop

It's the first Friday of the month, so that means we are back with the All Star Tutorial Bundle Blog Hop.

I enjoyed experimenting with watercolour for my tutorial, so I thought I will continue the theme into today's hop - it's a different card and technique, but features a watercolour element.

I must say, I was terrified to try this technique, but absolutely adore the outcome! It's really simple to do too - ink up your stamp (I've used the tree from Winter Woods), spritz your watercolor paper, spritz your inked image, then stamp... and then magic before your eyes, isn't it wonderful?

I'm normally into fine lines and details, but the randomness of the watercoloured tree blows my mind, I love it! I also double stamped the sentiment (from Merry Christmas to All), first in Cherry Cobbler, then in Golden Glitz, the shimmer is just gorgeous in real life (my photo doesn't give justice) - at first glance it tricks your eyes and may look a little blurry, but then …
