It is with mixed emotions that I show my project for this weeks What Will You Stamp? We are featuring Bella and Friends, the adorable dog themed stamp set suitable for many occasions.
I found it very difficult creating this project using Bella and Friends, as just over a week ago I found out that my companion of almost 16 years has a tumour. Cleo's diagnosis was unexpected as she is still alert, active and has her usual appetite, including trying to sneak cat food given half a chance! She has such loving temperament, is still ball mad if you mention the word or spell it for that matter! I still remember her as a puppy, it seems like yesterday, she is so loving and loyal.
I had many attempts before I was able to complete my photo collage and there were many tears shed during the process
I coloured my images using Watercolour pencils and a Blender pen to make my "scruffy puppy" look alikes - if there is a burr or a grass seed to be found Cleo will find it, and then fussy cut the images. I die cut "Cleo" in Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock using the Large Letter Framelits and layered to create a slight shadow; inserted my Cleo look alike images from Bella & Friends then mounted on a piece of Sending Love DSP.

What a beautiful scrapbook page Sue, especially since it was obviously designed at a difficult time. x
ReplyDeleteThank you Tracy, there were lots of tears and I had to walk away several times
DeleteSue, what a beautiful homage to your fur baby. I understand your pain and admire you for participating this week, as hard as it must have been for you. I'm glad that Cleo doesn't know she's sick and still wants to play "you know what". Hugs. Xo
ReplyDeleteThanks Gail, as hard as it was it also helped me through the first week of her diagonosis. Like you I am in love with the watercolour pencils, I like how I was able to create my "scruffy puppy" by using strokes then just blending ever so slightly, leaving the texture of her coat.
DeleteSue, the way you photographed and featured your love is gorgeous. I can see the love you have for her and it shows in your work. Well done scrapbook page and coloring :-) -Jenny Hall
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous project. I'm so sorry to hear about your furry friend's illness. It's wonderful that she must feel so loved.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore what you have created Sue, makes me want to get back into my Scrapbooking. Ange xx
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful page to look at, your girl is lovely, as is the amount of detail you've got in your stamped/coloured Cleo's xx
