Bird Banter | #WWYS161

Welcome to this week at What Will You Stamp? We are showcasing the Bird Banter set from the Occasions Catalogue:
Bird Banter by Stampin Up

This set has lots of cute bird images and sentiments with "puns", I have seen many creations with this set that make me smile. I grew up in a household with a pet Budgie - Fred, well there was actually 3 Freds, all different but all really fun in their own way, and my daughter has a budgie called Happy - he is one crazy bird that gets up to all sorts of mischief!


So with all that my first thoughts were to create a budgie card, but no matter how long I looked at the stamps, a card image didn't appear with a budgie, but here is what did come into my head:

Not quite what you would be expecting from a set called Bird Banter! not a bird to be seen! But I do really like this card, it would be great for any recipient, and it also has a fun festive feel to it.

I used the masking technique to layer the balloons and the edge of the Stitched Shapes die cut, then coloured with Stampin Blends.I layered the square on 2 squares cut from Basic Black; it gives a very fine line of detail around the focal image when the card in on an angle, and made the stitching pop a little too.

I'm a bit of a hoarder of cardstock scraps, and that is where I found the strip of Basic Black for the sentiment - no additional trimming required, it was meant to be! I popped it up with mini dimensionals over the stamped focal point, and there you have it, my completed card.

    Never thought about just using the balloons alone. You always have such great ideas. Love seeing new twists for the stamps. Thanks again for sharing.

Thank you for everything Hues of Happiness

Hello crafty friends, I'm using one of my favourite layouts today with the simply gorgeous Hues of Happiness DSP . I decided to make the card using Pool Party cardstock to complement the blue flowers in a bed of purples, I think it turned out lovely. I added detail to the card front by using the Scalloped edge from the Scalloped Contours Dies , and heat embossed a sentiment in silver from the Color & Contour stamp set .  To finish I added a touch of bling with Rhinestone  Basic Jewels . Color Fusers Blog Hop August 2025

Welcome to this month's Color Fusers Monthly Blog Hop! Today we are creating with Darling Duckling, Basic Grey and Basic White. I had the Impressions Abloom bundle on my desk, and when looking at the colours immediately thought of daisies, next I reached for my Fancy Border dies.  I cut the border in all 3 colours and layered to create an extra layer of interest into my design. I simply adore the tiny flowers in the bundle, a great alternative to add and element instead of my signature rhinestones, but I did add a hint of silver bling with some offcuts of ribbon that were on my desk - waste not, not want and my mother always said to me when she taught me dress making! Welcome to the ESAD Holiday Catalogue Fancy Folds & 3D project Blog Hop. Color Fusers Blog Hop July 2025

Welcome to this month's Color Fusers Monthly Blog Hop!  This month, we are creating with Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Smokey Slate - colours that are not up the front of my palette if I am honest, so this was a challenge for me! I broke out one of my newest bundles - Impressions Abloom, I was fascinated with the dies, so that became my starting point, lots and lots of flowers and foliage were cut. The dies are made so that you can either cut the stamped images or die cut with detail as I have done for my card. I love layering, so I really enjoyed creating the arrangement with all the die cuts, I finished by adding some bling with jeweled rhinestones and a small butterfly (from Beautiful Butterfly dies).
