Getting inky with Prized Peony

I inked up another new stamp set today, Prized Peony . This is a DistINKtive image, which means there is lots of detail and shading, so it actually does a lot of the work for you. By do the work for you, I mean if you are not confident with colouring, you just use the shading as your guide, and before you know it you will have a beautiful image. I used Light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend to colour the flowers, using the Colour Blender to fade the colour towards the edges, then added soft grey and light Mint Macaron around the edge of the images, lastly flicking Mint Macaron and Smoky Slate Stampin Marker to create the flecks of colour. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the products I used below, just click on the picture and be taken directly to the product.  I truly appreciate your support, it inspires me to keep crafting and helps to keep my blog and You

Playful Pets is such a treat!

Happy Friday, and welcome to this month's Ink It! Stamp It! showcase of the new Annual Catalogue - there is bound to be something that takes your eye in the new catalogue! I'm show off the Pampered Pets stamp set today, its part of the Playful Pets Suite. I love animals, and we have several pets - you may recall my kitten Rimmer? It's almost a year now since he joined our family, and he is one big fluffy boy now! My card today is highlighting one of the cute puppies in the set, I've coloured him with Stampin Blends but you could also use pencils if that is more your style. For some added interest I stamped butterflies and tied a Bakers Twine bow. Make sure you pop around to all the team see what they have picked from the catalogue: Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Lovely You Miles Apart

It's a cold, wet and windy Saturday, I decided it was a great day to get into the craft studio. I'm still working through my pre-order and today I inked up the " Lovely You " stamp set for the first time and created this one layer card. After stamping the sentiment I applied a mask over it so that I could do my foliage stamping using 2 of the stamps from the set. I used sponge daubers a blend Granny Apple Green and Pear Pizzazz for the leaves, and Melon Mambo for the flowers. I cut a strip of Basic Black and added a fine strip of Melon Mambo under the sentiment - I've added some Wink of Stella to the black, but the lighting hasn't been kind to me and it's not shown up in the photo, but there is a hint of shimmer. Last I added rhinestones and the card was complete. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the products I used below, just clic

Getting inky with Tasteful Touches

Hello!!! I got inky for what feels like the first time in weeks - I've been doing a lot of sorting and reorganizing in my crafting studio. I broke out the new Tasteful Touches bundle and with colour inspiration from a picture my daughter had done for an anime creation, & a project by Dawn Ferguson for stamp set, I then got inky with Smoky Slate, Seaside Spray & Highland Heather. I was just going to feature the feathers for the theme in this weeks Just Add Ink challenge: But I was curious to see what the image would look like with "texture stamps" too, so I went for it - I'm not sure about the overlapping of the textures, but I think might just be me and my desire for clean edges. The stamping is a mixture of first, second and third generation images.I also used the new Tasteful Textile embossing folder - whilst I adore the Subtle Folder I am over the moon with folder, I think it is going to be agony of choice between these folders movin
