Two for two 2 crafty afternoons - what a wonderful weekend! I've been waiting to be in a fussy cutting mood to try out my new Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks ...... and I just love them! They are super easy to use - numbered so you know which to use first, you can just create your image as per the masks, but I choose to cut them out so I could put them in a cluster. Colour combination for this design comes from the challenge below, a little different for flowers as I made the centre blue, but I still think the flowers are just gorgeous! Hello my crafty friends, I'm playing along with this weeks  TGIF colour challenge which features Berry Burst (so excited this colour has returned), Petal Pink and Basic Black. I started by using Artistic Mix Decorative Masks, blending Black lightly on my card front, once I'd finished blending I trimmed down so the checks were symmetrical and added the Scalloped edge before adhering to the card base. Now for some fun, die cutting and laying images from the Cheerful Daisies bundle, I'm super happy with the triple layers. The embossed effect from the die cut is beautiful, adding detail and texture to your cut image. The sentiment is from a retired set, but the border die framing it is part of the bundle. Happy New Year crafty friends! Today I have a great hack for stencilling using the Stamparatus.  For the best stencilled image we want to hold our stencil in one place, so why not use the Stamparatus to do this!!! This hack/technique worked a treat creating the rainbow stencilled background, I started with the magnet in the lower corner and moved to the top right during the stencilling process to free up the bottom corner for applying the ink. I used Magenta Madness, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana and Fresh Freesia for my rainbow. The sentiment is from Biggest Wish , and is cut with a Stitched Rectangle die with the underlying banner using the small banner from the Tasteful Labels dies. After a lovely turkey lunch I made it into my studio this afternoon and decided to open the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks from my Jan - June Mini Catalogue pre-order, after some experimentation I was ready to create this card: I started with the "plain butterfly" using blending brushes to add Calypso Coral to Mange Melody to Polished Pink . Then keeping the butterfly mask in place, I started to add the flowers, using additional scraps of paper to mask areas I didn't want the flowers to show. From my experimentation I learnt that it is best to clean the Masks to avoid transferring colours. Next was the butterfly detail, again using scrap paper to mask over the floral area then applying Soft Suede . I repeated the process to add the leaves in Soft Sea Foam .
