Happy weekend crafty friends, I hope it has been a productive one for you.  I took some time out to go through the retiring items on the Last Chance List, and todays card with 2 of the items on the list - sad face. I'll start with In Bloom - I haven't used the stamp set a lot, but LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the coordinating Pierced Dies. It's so easy to go with bold colours with these cute die cuts - I've used retiring 2020-2022 In Colors, Misty Moonlight, Bumblebee and my fav of the set, Magenta Madness. Next, Happiest of Birthdays, I really like the simplicity of these sentiments, and the mixture of fonts - a really good set to make some quick #simplestamping cards. Welcome back crafty friends, when I was making yesterdays card I also saw the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge so I actually made 2 cards using the same sentiment from Happiest of Birthdays and the Global Design Project challenge colours. For this card I also used one of my favourite items from the Jan - June Mini Catalogue - the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks . I positioned the sentiment in my Stamparatus and the applied ink with a Sponge Dauber to the centre with Pale Papaya, I reinked a couple to times so that the ink was quite dark. Then I repeated putting Pool Party on the bottom and Polished Pink on the top (cleaning off the stamp when changing colours). Now the sentiment was finished I centred the mask and lightly applied ink with a Blending Brush to create the background. Happy weekend to you! I spent this morning doing some errands and grocery shopping, so this afternoon I got inky to play along with the Global Design Projects colour challenge, I just couldn't say no to these colours: I decided to go with a more subtle or pastel version of the colours and achieved this by using Blending Brushes . I started by adding Pool Party to the centre region of my card base, leaving the top and bottom free from colour, then I stamped and Silver embossed the sentiment from Happiest Birthdays , then cut with a scalloped frame using a die from the Scalloped Contour dies . I used Blending Brushes on some offcuts with Polished Pink and Pale Papaya, then stamped with the outline stamp from Colour & Contour and Silver embossed before cutting with the coordinating die.
