Stampers Showcase - Black & White

Well the end of May is here..... that means it's time for the crew at Stampers Showcase to give you some inspiration, this months theme: Black & White. As simple as it sounds, when you then try to create a card with only 1 colour of ink, well that can be a challenge, lucky for me I had a BBB delivered on Friday so I had lots of new catalogue goodies to try, and this is what I came up with: I started by stamping the long watercolour image from Artistically Linked across the card, then using a dauber blended the black ink, and blended, and blended..... until I got a nice solid black base to the card. Then to choose scripted or plain text from Biggest Wish for the sentiment, or a mix? Any would work, I finally decided to use scripted font. This design is also great for masculine card, and could also be done in a different colour scheme. I can't wait for you to see all the other inspiration from the new catalogue in the hop today, so why don't you go ahead and click the n

Today's Plan: Cocktails!

Hello, today's card is a shout out to my Victorian friends who are currently in a COVID19 lockdown, I hope you're all doing well. The colours and layout for the card are from 2 of my favourite Challenge Blogs: I started by stamping the cocktail glass, carefully applying ink to the top of the "beverage" in Pale Papaya, then Soft Succulent on the bottom, one stamped I coloured to the edge of the glass with the corresponding Stampin' Blend, then coloured the lime wedge and umbrella. After die cutting "Cocktails" I coloured the bottom with the Dark Pale Papaya Blend, and blended towards the top with the light blend. I also added a sentiment to the inside of the card. Here's hoping for a short lockdown, and in the mean time if you need inspiration check out the challenge blogs to get your mojo up and running. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the products I u

Thank You with Pierced Blooms

Hello and welcome the International winners, firstly a want to say to a big thank you to everyone that voted for my project in the International Highlights - I was in the Top 10, so I'm back with another  card. Today I've used the Pierced Blooms Dies to create a lovely floral arrangement, and I've moved from pastels to something a little bolder, HIghland Heather, Magenta Madness, Calypso Coral and Granny Apple Green - bound to brighten someones day! The gorgeous pin hole details on the dies adds so much to the cut images, all that I needed to do was arrange the die cuts and add a sentiment (from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set). I tend to gravitate to make the focal side of my cards the right when doing arrangements, so for something different I did the arrangement on the right hand side of the card,  To finish I added Matte Black Dots for some bling, still keeping the card clean and bright. Thanks again for your votes, be sure to view the Top 10 participants below for som
