CASE the Catalogue with Stampers Showcase

Howdy crafters, did you know a great place to find inspiration is a Stampin' Up! catalogue! Today we are CASE'ing a project from any current Stampin' Up! publication. I've added measurements and a supply list so that your can CASE the project too! I decided to grab my Annual Catalogue and give some love to a bundle I haven't used for a while, Butterfly Brilliance , and m y inspiration is from Page 3. I made these note cards for all occasion, I'll either add the sentiment at the time I pop them in with a gift, or leave as is. Here's what you need to make one of these note cards: Magenta Madness Card Base 9.9 cm x 19.8 cm, scored at 9.9 cm (4' x 4") Balmy Blue Matte 8 cm x 8 cm (3 1/4" x 3 1/4") Abstract Beauty Specialty DSP 7.6 cm x 7.6 cm (3" x 3") All that's left to do is add your die cut butterfly! There you go, simple quick note cards inspired from the Annual Catalogue! Continue through the hop and see more Catalogue inspi...

This or That? with Abstract Beauty

Welcome back crafty friends, today is Share it Sunday, any colour, any theme, sentiment as long as it is a current item from Stampin' Up! I got on a roll when I did some rearranging/tidying in my craft studio and decided that even though they were small pieces this Abstract Beauty Designer Series Paper was to pretty for the "toss" pile. With a clear work space I got to it, but couldn't decide on Magenta Madness of Night of Navy for the main colour.... so I did both! The card front looked a little bare, so I stamped the small "flowerish" image  and tiny tiny lines from Hello Beautiful stamp set  over the "white space", subtle enough to break it up, but not overpower and take from the DSP. The gold embossed sentiment compliments the pop of gold from the DSP, and I finished with Gold Simply Elegant Trim add Gilded Gems . Be sure to continue through the list below, there will be plenty of ideas to get you creating today: Blog Hop Index Thanks fo...

Friendly Hello Team Swaps

Hello and welcome to the weekend crafty friends. Today I'm sharing my design for the latest card swaps I participated in with the Crazy Crafters. I totally lost track of time and needed to create 10 cards in one evening to post the next morning. So it was #loveitchopit to the rescue.... but then as i always seem to do when it comes to swaps, I add elements and detail that afterwards I'm thinking "what was I thinking?" Things started simple enough, a strip of Pale Papaya cardstock and a strip of Friendly Hello DSP . Next I stamped bird image from the Friendly Hello stamp set , then die cut before adding the sentiment from Friends are like Seashells stamp set . Right about now is where I lost my way....when I went to add the ribbon trim I thought "things look a little bland" and began looking over my craft supplies - I know the Bloom Hybrid embossing folder will look fabulous with the floral image from both the DSP and stamp. 10 passes through the embossing ...

Biggest Wish with Friendly Hello

Hello crafters, I got inky this afternoon to join this weeks TGIF challenge which is all about Sale-a-bration! Speaking of Sale-a-bration,... have you heard - due to issues with stock availability in early January Sale-a-bration has been extended in the South Pacific til March 16th. For my project today I grabbed the Friendly Hello stamp set , and stamped along one edge of my card front using scraps of paper to mask the images so they neatly overlapped each other. After adding the solid foliage, I stamped my sentiment from the Biggest Wish stamp set , then I picked up a Blending Brush and added Fresh Freesia lightly over the floral images, concentrating the colour on the centre of each flower. Next I blended a strip of Soft Sea Foam, followed by Balmy Blue. Then a splattered a little of each colour using Stampin Write Markers (masking with scraps again), then splattered a touch of Basic Black over everything. To finish I added some Matte Black Dots and some Blank and White twine. T...
