Are you in the mood for love? Todays Crafty Collaborations blog hop is for Valentine's Day creations and inspiration. So of us go a little over the top on this day of love, I decided on a fun fold for my special Valentines Day card, using the Sweet Conversations stamp set and coordinating dies. I do love a fun fold, and can't remember the last time I made a Swing Fold card , I had a quick look on Pinterest to refresh my memory and got started. I went with Magenta Madness instead of red and adore the finished card.   I stamped off on scrap once before stamping the hearts to get them a little lighter, I wanted them to compliment not over power the cute little envelope. I also stamped on the inside of the card with a small sentiment and heart theme. I added a twine bow and Basic Rhinestone Gems for that special touch of bling to complete the card. Hello crafty friends, wow where has the weekend gone? I seemed to whittle the hours away yesterday, but was up early this morning for an appointment, then when I got home I went straight for the studio and combined two challenges for this creation: Colours courtesy of CAS Colours & Sketches and the layout inspiration from the Global Design Project For a while now I've been wanting to give "freehand" lines a go to frame an image, but I've always chickened out, but not today! I'm usually a straight lines & layers girl, but I must admit I do the the randomness of this frame, what do you think? I started with stamping the daffodil image and colouring with Stampin' Blends, then using a 0.2mm Fine Line pen traced the inner square using the inside of a square die, then added the freehand lines around the edge, not going over the stamped image. I used a sentiment from Forever Fern, stamped on a scrag of Basic Black Cardstock, white heat embossed and trimmed, ...

Let's face it we all want our craft supplies to go as far as they can, today we are sharing how we reduce or eliminate waste of our crafting supplies. My mum taught me dress making, and as we are on the "shorter" side she often found that she didn't need the recommended amount of fabric, she lay the pattern or fold the fabric  differently and still have left over fabric. So when it comes to card making it's natural for me to think of ways to saved supplies.  I've used 5 supply saving methods with this card!  1. Keep your off cuts of card stock. It is amazing how often I can use a "scrap" of cardstock to either stamp a sentiment, or add a strip of colour to a card. 2. If you are covering a large area of DSP, trim it to just over the size you will see on the finished card. 3. When making cards with contrasting layers it is often possible to cut a smaller shape in the middle of the larger layer as it will be hidden. 4. I rarely wrap ribbon/twine around ...
