Welcome to Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Shannon Lane all the way over in Canada, you may be familiar with her blog - Crush On Colour
Shannon is a member of the Stampin Up! Artisan team, and we have the task to CASE - Copy and Selectively Edit one of her creations - how exciting! As soon as I saw her below project I knew that this is what I wanted to CASE
I have had a really tough week, our family has said goodbye to our 16yr old Border Collie, she is now in doggy heaven playing with her friend Sasha. At first I was going to use the Sending Love DSP to make a frame for one of her photos; then I found a photo of her with a ball..... she loved playing ball, she didn't know when to stop, would just keep playing and playing, it was us they would get tired of throwing the ball!
That memory led me to my project, here it is:
The photo is from a few years ago when Cleo was full of energy, happy days :) The spotted Party Animal DSP is so bright and cheery, I decided to line the edge of the photo frame using strips of it and incorporate the colour combination for my tennis balls.
Instead of punching and folding circles of DSP I created Tennis Balls! I used the smallest stitched framelit circle and matching plain circle to create the balls. First cutting in colour cardstock with the plain framelit, then cutting 2 sections with the stitched framelit, then adhering Whisper White to make the "white lines" then re-cutting with the plain circle framlit, whala! one ball complete, many more to go..... it was a little time consuming, but I had good thoughts the entire time remembering happy days and now I have this frame to cherish these memories.
This would also make a great Project Life page, I may just make another for my album!
Be sure you hop all the way around our Crazy Crafters hop and see all the incredible creations, and if you have a chance please leave a comment, we love receiving comments! You are currently on my blog - Sue Vine, check who is below me and that is where to head to next! Thanks for hopping with us.

ReplyDeleteawww Cleo... What a beautiful memory of good times. They bring us such joy in our life that it is great to remember those times and the wonderful life that you gave to her too. She was loved and cared for - what a beautiful gift you have given to her.
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning Sue! You address so clever to work out those tennis balls, just amazing!
ReplyDeleteYour card is so clever, but I really want to comment on the loss of your beloved dog. I still grieve for my cat, Gus, who I had to put down two years ago. They give us such unconditional love and so much joy, don't they? I'm sorry you had to let go of Cleo, but I believe you will her again.
ReplyDeleteI meant to say "see her again."
DeleteSo sorry about the loss of Cleo, but what I beautiful tribute. I have a 16 year old mini aussie who is completely ball crazy, so unfortunately I may need to borrow your ball technique all too soon. They sure do wiggle their way into our hearts. ❤
