Welcome to this weeks challenge at What Will You Stamp? This week the set we are playing with Badges and Banners
I decided to go for something a bit different and make a masculine themed card - I always find them more challenging to make, here is what I came up with:
The sentiment says it all, not too over the top, just nice for a laid back male celebrating with a beer! And what man doesn't like a badge, I added the little tails with 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon.
The background isn't DSP, it's the new Marbled background stamp - it reminds me of shaving cream, which is what lead me to a masculine card. I sponged a combination of Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide and Basic Black then stamped, the hardest thing was managing the stamp with my tiny hands!

Oh wow! Oh course it's a new stamp, here I was thinking wow how did Sue get the 'shaving cream technique' so perfect...not that you wouldn't! Gorgeous masculine card.
ReplyDeletethanks Carolina, you know me too well.... I would want the shaving cream to be perfect!
DeleteThis one's a pearler Sue! And not a skerrick of pink in sight!!! I've had my eye on a few of the new background stamps in the new catty, including this one. I think you've just convinced me to put it on my next order!
ReplyDeleteHappy to be your enabler Gail! I'm sure there will be a pink version in the near future :)
DeleteBeautiful card! Love the colors on the BG stamp. Sharing a tip: I taught my customers with hand issues (either arthritic or too small) to use the BG stamps flat on the table. Lay your paper on top of the face up stamp, lay scrap paper over and either press with hand or brayer to get a good imprint. We do partial prints this way too. Works very well.
ReplyDeleteI've used my woodmount background as you have described above, it got clear mount this time to see what it would be like - I agree small or arthritic hands would benefit from not trying to hold the large background stamping blocks
DeleteI absolutely love that background and the color combo you chose! I totally thought you had done the shaving cream technique on this card and of course now I NEED this stamp! :)
ReplyDeleteSorry Beka! but it is a great stamp!
DeleteWould probably work using the baby wipe technique for the multiple colours.
ReplyDeletenow there's a interesting thought - might just give that one a go Jacinta
DeleteSue I love this. Took me a few looks and a read to work out what you had done with the background. Love the idea of sponging onto the background stamp. Very cool
ReplyDeleteCheers Lou - glad you worked out what I've done (also nice to hear that I'm not the only one how has to read things more than once to figure it out at times) :)
DeleteNeat card, love the background, nice layout also. A great guy card!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sherlie - might be a bit of a "goto" for masculine for me in the future I think
DeleteAwesome colors Sue with the new background stamp. Angexx
ReplyDeleteThanks Ange :)
