Crafty Challenge Blog Hop with Color & Contour

Hello, the Crafty Challenge blog hop is back this month with a colour challenge, and what a gorgeous set of colours we have: As soon as I saw the colours, I knew I was using flowers somewhere, it wasn't until I created the card I surprised myself by making the cardstock the "hero" by adding subtle detail with embossing and shimmer. Blushing Bride, So Saffron & Flirty Flamingo is just a gorgeous combo. I started by stamping the flower image with VersaMark, then heat embossing with White Powder. I stamped the sentiment opposite corners of the card - so easy to line up with a photopolymer stamp! Next I cut all 3 colours using the 2nd smallest Scalloped Contours dies, I also cut 3 in Basic White and adhered to the coloured cardstock to give a little more support for when I popped them up on dimensionals.  Lastly I added Shimmer with a Wink of Stella - add as little or as much as you want, I went with lots for this design! I cant wait to see the other projects using this c...

Positive Thoughts with Birds & Branches

Welcome to Share it Sunday, a blog hop where everything goes, any colour, any theme, sentiment as long as it is a current item from Stampin' Up!  With the retirement list being released this week, it has made my think of using some stamp sets before they are no longer available, I've combined a bundle and sentiment from another set for todays card, with some embellishment too. The Birds & Branches stamp set with coordinating Birds & More dies are simply delicately adorable, I'be used them many times, and they never fail to disappoint me. The delicate detail in the edge & circle die are so sweet, and give a feminine touch with ease. I stamped the birds Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand. The background is Just Jade with Misty Moonlight applied to a separate layer of cardstock with Blending Brushes, before being adhered to behind the circle cut out. There is no sentiment with Birds & Branches, and with things the way they have been for the past couple of years, ...

In Bloom with Happiest of Birthdays

Happy weekend crafty friends, I hope it has been a productive one for you.  I took some time out to go through the retiring items on the Last Chance List, and todays card with 2 of the items on the list - sad face. I'll start with In Bloom - I haven't used the stamp set a lot, but LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the coordinating Pierced Dies. It's so easy to go with bold colours with these cute die cuts - I've used retiring 2020-2022 In Colors, Misty Moonlight, Bumblebee and my fav of the set, Magenta Madness. Next, Happiest of Birthdays, I really like the simplicity of these sentiments, and the mixture of fonts - a really good set to make some quick #simplestamping cards. The layout for my card is from this weeks CAS Colours & Sketches challenge . Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the products I used below, just click on the picture and be taken directly to the product.  I truly a...

Daffodil Daydream Silhouette

Happy weekend crafty friends. I've used one of my favourite techniques to add a pop of colour to todays card - Masking. I started by stamping my image, then coloured the daffodils - I used Stampin' Blends, you could also use watercolour pencils. Then I cut a circle from a scrap piece of cardstock and positioned over the stamped image (masking the remainder of the card front), then lightly applied Balmy Blue to the circle using a Blending Brush. Next I added Soft Sea Foam to the leaves, only colouring to the edge of the circle.  Then I stamped the sentiment and added Holiday Rhinestones for a touch of bling to finish. A simple design with a little WOW factor created by the using a mask #simplestamping Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the products I used below, just click on the picture and be taken directly to the product.  I truly appreciate your support, it inspires me...
