Full of Love with Just Add Ink

Hello friends, when I saw the colour challenge at Just Add Ink this week I couldn't resist joining in the challenge: Aren't the colours just beautiful! I immediately saw flowers, and then decided on the Full of Love stamp set and pulled out my Stampin Blends , then fussy cut the arrangement. I blended a mix of Fresh Freesia and Starry Sky for the background.... confession time, I didn't clean off my mask properly after applying a light wash of Starry Sky, so when I removed the larger of the 2 plaid Artistic Mix Decorative Masks and applied Fresh Freesia things all kinda blended together - so whilst not what I was aiming for I was happy with the blending of the 2 colours. The sentiment is from the stamp set to, I kept things simple and just stamped directly onto the card base rather than fussy cutting it too. I finish by  adding some Rhinestone Basic Jewels in the centre of the flowers for a touch of bling. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project....

Trees for Sale - Crafty Colour Challenge

Hello crafters, welcome to a Crafty Colour Challenge! Today we have lovely collection of colours to brighten anyone's day: I'll be honest, Crushed Curry would have to be one of my least used colours.... I'm not really into yellows, so this was a bit of a challenge for me. I decided that a non-traditional coloured Christmas Card would work for me for these colours. I've done 1st and 2nd generation stamping for my trees - the largest tree from the Trees for Sale stamp set , and I cut them with the Sale-a-bration Tree Lot Dies that you can earn for FREE with any $180 aud purchase during Sale-a-bration. I used a blending brush to apply a little Crushed Curry then stamped the stars, before mounting on a Crushed Curry Mat. To finish I added some Elegant Trim. Stampers Showcase - Stylish Santa Express Showcase

Hello there crafty friends, today we are showcasing creations from the July-Dec Mini catalogue with a twist..... with a sketch from a bit of a blast from the past if you recall Mojo Monday (one of the first challenge blogs I participated in when I started my journey with Stampin Up!) Card Sketches are a terrific way to get your creative juices flowing. They give you a fantastic starting point, or a perfect layout to CASE! I just received an order on Friday and decided that I'd use Santa's Express DSP for my project, here's what I've come up with: Isn't the Santa Express DSP just gorgeous! So much so that I haven't done any stamping, I've let the DSP do all the work for my card. I've used the Stylish Shapes dies for the circles and banners, and added a little touch of bling with a super cute bow tied with Metallic Mesh Ribbon . As you can see I took the sketch quite literally, using the tones of the sketch to guide me with colour placement. I did change...

Nothing's Better Than.... Fun in the Sun

Fun in the Sun..... I'm in the southern hemisphere, so I wish! It seems like weeks that I've had thermals and the heater on at home, so even the thought of Fun in the Sun makes me feel a little warmer. When I think of a fun in the sun day, it is with family and friends, and in more cases than not there would be a favourite bevvy involved, so I decided that the Nothing's Better Than stamp set was perfect! I've used Polished Pink, Tahitian Tide and Coastal Cabana as my colour theme, I used the Deckled Rectangle dies to "tear" the sides of the cardstock; these dies are now my "go to" for rough finishes as I don't like tearing cardstock by hand - weird I know, but hey it's just a "me thing". As July is watercolour month, I used that theme for the Shimmery White background and colouring of my cocktails. I added some shimmer to the glasses with Wink of Stella, and some Tahitian Tide In Color Twine twine and Basic Rhinestone Gems to fini...
