By popular demand... Imperial & Metric dimensions for z-Fold cards

I have had a number of requests regarding the US or imperial measurements/dimensions that I use for my z-fold cards - I've done my best to convert to American size cardstock and inches for you



The template is designed so that you can make 2 cards with one piece of cardstock.  Here is the order in which I applied the above measurements to make the card base:

Metric - A4
  1. measure up 6.5 cm from bottom left corner, make a small mark
  2. measure down 6.5 cm from top right corner, make a small mark
  3. line up marks on your trimmer at top and bottom of the card stock and cut. Your A4 sheet is cut diagonally and you have 2 z-fold card bases :)
  4. on the flat edge of the cardstock (not the diagonal cut edge) score at 9.9 cm and again at 19.8 cm
  5. fold along the score lines and burnish with bone folder 
  6. there you have it, you are all ready to decorate your z-fold card

Imperial - US
  1. trim 1/8 inch from your cardstock so that it measures 10 7/8 inches wide
  2. measure up 2.5 inches from bottom left corner, make a small mark
  3. measure down 2.5 inches from top right corner, make a small mark
  4. line up marks on your trimmer at top and bottom of the card stock and cut. Your cardstock is cut diagonally and you have 2 z-fold card bases :)
  5. on the flat edge of the cardstock (not the diagonal cut edge) score at 3 5/8 inches and again at 7 14 inches
  6. fold along the score lines and burnish with bone folder 
  7. there you have it, you are all ready to decorate your z-fold card

    Thanks so much for providing the imperial measurements. Even though Canada went to Metric some years ago, I learned Imperial in my youth and continue to think in terms of feet and inches. Your card was so beautiful, I just have to try it out myself. Appreciated.

    Your cards look great, thanks for making the instructions so easy. I too, think in ft. and inches so that is a bonus. Only just found this, so looking forward to trying them tomorrow.

    I am making a card for a co-worker who is leaving, I thought the "Lift Me Up" was a great option. One comment, I found it much easier to work on the rectangle shape, so I scored prior to cutting the diagonal. Thanks for doing all the heavy lifting. So appreciate it!

Thank you for everything Hues of Happiness

Hello crafty friends, I'm using one of my favourite layouts today with the simply gorgeous Hues of Happiness DSP . I decided to make the card using Pool Party cardstock to complement the blue flowers in a bed of purples, I think it turned out lovely. I added detail to the card front by using the Scalloped edge from the Scalloped Contours Dies , and heat embossed a sentiment in silver from the Color & Contour stamp set .  To finish I added a touch of bling with Rhinestone  Basic Jewels . Color Fusers Blog Hop August 2025

Welcome to this month's Color Fusers Monthly Blog Hop! Today we are creating with Darling Duckling, Basic Grey and Basic White. I had the Impressions Abloom bundle on my desk, and when looking at the colours immediately thought of daisies, next I reached for my Fancy Border dies.  I cut the border in all 3 colours and layered to create an extra layer of interest into my design. I simply adore the tiny flowers in the bundle, a great alternative to add and element instead of my signature rhinestones, but I did add a hint of silver bling with some offcuts of ribbon that were on my desk - waste not, not want and my mother always said to me when she taught me dress making! ESAD Holiday Catalogue Fancy Folds & 3D Projects

Welcome to the ESAD Holiday Catalogue Fancy Folds & 3D project Blog Hop. We're so excited to share our creations with you and we're certain that you will find great tips and inspiration from all our creations. I've created a project using one of my favourite fun folds - a "z-fold", using the Snowflakes Sentiments Bundle The thinlits give the card lots to detail, and did take a bit of time to put together, but hey if I'm honest I overthink the the placement of the swirls and snowflake sentiments like 3 - 4 times before I stick them down, hahaha!, but I must say every minute was worth it, I am really happy with the finished card. Color Fusers Blog Hop July 2025

Welcome to this month's Color Fusers Monthly Blog Hop!  This month, we are creating with Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Smokey Slate - colours that are not up the front of my palette if I am honest, so this was a challenge for me! I broke out one of my newest bundles - Impressions Abloom, I was fascinated with the dies, so that became my starting point, lots and lots of flowers and foliage were cut. The dies are made so that you can either cut the stamped images or die cut with detail as I have done for my card. I love layering, so I really enjoyed creating the arrangement with all the die cuts, I finished by adding some bling with jeweled rhinestones and a small butterfly (from Beautiful Butterfly dies).
