Ever start off with a plan in your head and your card turns out totally different?
Well, that's what happened today, this was going to be a somewhat simple card with my trying a new technique using Glycerin for blending sponged backgrounds that I saw Gail O'Neill demonstrate - and it is amazing, the Glycerin just makes the sponge glide on the cardstock, and keeps the ink damp a little longer making it perfect for blending your second colour, I used Soft Sky then Marina Mist - this technique is amazing!
Do you love this card and want to re-create? Sadly the Seaside Shore Stamp set is retiring, likewise Always Aritchoke, so if you simply must have this stamp set or anything Always Artichoke the time is NOW - only available while stocks last or til 31st May.

I was inspired to try the new technique when I saw this weeks challenge at Stamp Ink Paper, and it does say you can use any colour medium - I may have used more than one... and ended up with a Shaker Card!
I started the project by stamping the underwater plants and then used an Aqua Painter to fill in the colour with Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler and Calypso Coral, next I stamped a fish in Daffodil Delight and added So Saffron shading with the Aqua Painter.
This is where things changed.... I decided that I would fussy cut the next fish, and before I knew it I had also fussy cut some water plants on Calypso Coral and sponged Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke using a Dauber... then I decided to create a port hole view, and the port hole then screamed make me into a shaker card - and I still haven't tried the technique I set out to do!
My port hole is a bit unique as it is oval, I created height by cutting several ovals the same by sticking them together with washi tape
I also light sponged the embossed wood grain with a hint of Crumb Cake, this gives the illusion of even more dimension with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder! Don't the sequins look like bubbles too - I hadn't even thought of this till I had sealed the shaker window down = added bonus!
