All about Love with Stampin Friends

Hello Friends,wWelcome to the first 2019 Stampin Friends Blog hop. It's great to be back hopping with the group...especially with all the beautiful new stamps and products available in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue, not to mention the Sale-A-Bration, January is a fabulously crafty time of year!

Our theme is month is "All About Love", I immediately thought of hearts, and I was lucky enough to receive my order containing the Meant to Be Bundle just in time to be able to create for this theme - here's my Love inspired creations:

I did have a couple of change of plans with the projects, mainly being due to be spoilt for choice with gorgeous heart stamps and oh my.... the coordinating Be Mine heart framelits, so many to choose from.

I finally decided on the floral edged heart stamp, as it had a coordinating edge stamp, which was perfect for the gift box in my project. A Diamond Box seemed perfect for this months theme, after all, diamonds are associated with Love.

After Silver embossing the stamping, I used an Blender Pen to apply Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz to the design, then added a layer of shimmer paint to the heart.

Here's a close up of the matching card to complete the set. Repeat stamping is a great way to add interest to a card, I stamped the sentiment with Melon Mambo, then added a plain Whisper White Layer - I am loving the straight scalloped edge die, and what a bonus that is also has the stitched detail... Love! I also added a little metallic thread above the stitching for a little extra bling, then added a matching heart to complete.

Take your time and continue around all to Stampin Friends, I'm sure you will find more love themed inspiration from the all the projects they have created for you, you're currently visiting Sue Vine at MissPinksCraftSpot, all you need to do is click on the next name to move along:

Thinking of Botanical Butterflies | Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Wendy Cranford

Welcome to our Crazy Crafters Blog hop with special guest Wendy Cranford for the USA. Wendy is a super talented crafter,  you may be familiar with her blog Luvin Stampin, it's full of amazing projects that are bound to inspire you.
As a Crazy Crafter, our task is to CASE (copy and selectively edit) one of Cathy's creations, I decided on the below card, I just adored the simple lay out.

Like Wendy, I've made use of the beautiful Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper - it's just gorgeous.... and can be yours FREE with a qualifying purchase during Sale-A-Bration, here's my Wendy inspired creation:

I was taken by the delicate detail of this imagery, I paired up with stitched scallop edge from the Be Mine framelits - I can't believe that I missed this framelit when I first looked at the set - I must have been too excited by all the hearts. To add height to my scalloped layers I added a layer of corrugated embossed cardstock.

The sentiment is from Climbing Roses, and…

Floating away with Tropical Chic

How quickly time goes by, it's another All Star Tutorial blog hop already! I'm always looking for new techniques and ideas, and follow a number of paper crafters -there is always so much to learn and seeing one project can open up inspiration for another.

Have you ever seen a project and just had to give it a try? My creation today is a inspired by all the Floating Frame cards I have been seeing, I just had to make one,.. but I was soon to discover that it wasn't going to be easy, search as I did, the wonderful Press & Seal still remains illusive to me here in Australia, whilst there is a Costco in Adelaide, it's a long drive so we don't have a membership, likewise the online options I located are just not cost effective, so I came up with an alternative approach for my card - my solution = a floating card front!

The first phase was to find a stamp set with medium to large die cuts, I opted for my one of my favorite sets, Tropical Chic, then to stamp and die cut …

Delicate Lace with Magnolia Lane

Well hello Saturday! What a long week that was, so happy to creative today, it feels like it's been ages! To get me in the mood I went to my favourite challenge blogs for some inspiration, and I chose this sketch:

For today's creation I've mixed some old with the new - Delicate Lace edge dies with Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper. I decided to turn the sketch on the side, it seemed to show of the lovely flowers better.

This DSP is just gorgeous, a mix of floral and stripes all using a beautiful colour palette - yes, it did have me with pink, but honestly if you replaced pink with a purple or yellow it would still be an amazing DSP.

Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month. If you live in Australia and don't already have a demonstrator I'd love love to be yours.
