It's another hot weekend in Adelaide.... so the perfect opportunity to just sit in under the air conditioner and craft... I may even have done a bit of craft room organisation too! So once my desk was clear I was ready to create, but no!!!! a craft blank - so over to challenge pages for inspiration, and Just Add Ink had a sketch that took my eye and I was on my way.
I love flourishes, so the sketch had me..... I had a plan, but.. gasp, my Botanical Butterfly DSP was cut the wrong way, so I've taken the liberty to flip my design.
Using the Foliage Framelits I created my version of the flourish in the sketch, adding a layer of white under the main die cut and slightly weighting the foliage towards the bottom. By matting with Pear Pizzazz and Basic Black it calmed the busy DSP.
I was also able to break out my embossing mats again (its been a while since they were used) and would you believe they were exactly where I had left them, the first place I looked! The touch of detail that using them creates on the detailed die cut is so worth it.
Lastly I stamped the sentiment, and added a 2" circle to frame it on the foliage die cut, just perfect.
Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month. If you live in Australia and don't already have a demonstrator I'd love love to be yours.

ReplyDeleteLovely work on that flourish Sue - keeping it neutral makes it stand out against the beautifully busy butterfly DSP and I too love that embossed detail! Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink this week. Kim
