Stampers Showcase with the July - Dec Holiday Mini Catalogue

Hello and welcome to this months Stampers Showcase of the July to December Mini Catalogue which features a bunch of new Holiday Season items, as well as some returning favourites. I've created a card using one of my favourite "go to" designs which is perfect for highlighting DSP, and one of the returning favorites in the catalogue is the Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper. For the card today, I cut a strip of the foiled paper featuring snowflakes, then lightly applied Blushing Bride to soften the stark white for my non-traditional coloured Christmas Card. After silver embossing the sentiment from Snowflake Season, then popped up the Blushing Bride layers with dimensionals.  And that's it, a quick and easy card that lets the gorgeous Designer Series Paper do all the work (with just a little help from the sentiment). Sometimes "keeping it simple" really does work! I can't wait for you to see all the other inspiration from the new catalogue in

It's a Cocktails Kinda day

This card sums up my day today, I was feeling very down this morning, but that turned around with messenger chat with some of my stamping besties, I can't thank them enough. I've fallen for this set, I love the mix of stamps, die cuts and mix and match sentiments. To occupy and distract myself this morning I went for a shaker card so I would need to concentrate, and I do love the finished card. I used a variety of colours, Mango Melody with Flirty Flamingo, Costal Cabana with Granny Apple Green for the drinks, and Bermuda Bay and Highland Heather umbrellas. Sequins for Everything from the Holiday Catalogue were perfect for the shaker element. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the products I used below, just click on the picture and be taken directly to the product.  I truly appreciate your support, it inspires me to keep crafting and helps to keep my blog and YouTube channel r

Getting inky with Forever Fern

After a busy morning, I got into the craft studio this afternoon - my happy place (especially when all the household tasks are done, and aren't calling me to complete them). I broke out a new set, Forever Fern - I finally gave in after seeing so many lovely creations made with it, here's what I came up with: I kept with the "greenery" theme of the set for this card, using Garden Green, Old Olive and a hint of Gorgeous Grape.  Being a DistINKtive stamp, it seriously does most of the work for you, instantly creating shades of colour with no effort at all. So Sentimental provided the "thank you" and likewise the coordinating die to frame the sentiment, then all I did was layer on some cardstock and add a Linen Thread highlight for embellishment. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Slimline Christmas Layers

As 2020 continues as a year that I can not have imagined, I'm thinking its not to early to prepare for Christmas... as I may need extra cards this year, because who knows what stage of lockdown or restrictions we will be in moving forward? We hope less, but in the past weeks in Australia we have had a State go into Stage 4 - it is very odd to see Victorian freeways empty due to the curfews, when I lived there almost 20 years ago they were packed bumper to bumper. The first step for this card was to create the "greenery", I sponged a mix of Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green onto a piece of cardstock, then splattered with some water. Next I cut one of the edge dies from the above cardstock, then I turned the cardstock over and cut from the back for the second - this gave me "mirror image" die cuts. After embossing the sentiment (from Snowman Season) I decided I wanted a rustic feel for the card, so I tore up the edges of the Sahara Sand and did a little

Fancy Phrases Just for You

This card came together in no time at all, I love the "scratchy line drawing" of this set, all you need to do is add a bit of a pop of colour and you are done - you don't even need to be specific about colouring to the edge of the lines! I stamped the large image around the top and edge of the card, then coloured with Cherry Cobbler, Mango Melody and Old Olive Stampin' Blends. After choosing my sentiment all that was left to do was add a touch of bling with Gold Glitter Enamel Dots  - the dots come in 4 different sizes and are great for adding more interest to your stamped designs.
