Seaside Notions with Stampin Friends

Welcome this this month's Stampin Friends Blog Hop, it's a "Summer theme" - my friends in the northern hemisphere are enjoying the sun, summer feels like it couldn't be further away for me, you see our heater broke 3 weeks ago, I am counting the days til our air conditioning get replaced and I don't need to have layer upon layer to feel "not cold".

Summer = Beach = the Seaside Notions stamp set in the new catalogue! I only got it a couple of weeks ago, I'm in loving the hand drawn look of the images, and thought I would put it together with a water colour background.

For something a little different I've used clear blocks to create my water colour background - this technique is so much fun and easy to boot too, it's a win, win. Here's a stop motion clip of how I created my card and the oversize chocolate block belly band using the Clear Block Background technique:

How cool is this technique, not to mention super easy! I used a little more ink on the block when creating the card, which gave it a deeper colour

I created an oversized belly band to wrap my thank you gift of a block of Lindt Chocolate, using the gold tips of the box into the theme of my projects. I used less ink on the clear block for this giving it a more washed out look.

Thank you so much for joining us today. We hope you'll join us again next month to see our projects & tips. You are currently visiting Sue Vine at Miss Pinks Craft Spot, to keep hopping around see the list below to see who is up next.

Say it with Stars... Happy Birthday

I've had a crafty orientated day today in between weekend household chores, after delivering catalogues, and in between multiple loads of washing & cooking I played with part of my So Many Stars bundle..... being the Stitched Stars dies (23 in the set, spoiilt for choice, woot!) These dies were perfect for the Global Design Project theme this week: I started by stamping my birthday sentiment, then placed 3 of the star dies (the 3 smaller detailed stars) in position and ran through the Big Shot, then re-positioned and worked by way along the edge of the card, cutting 7 in total - perfect for a rainbow of colour. I used 2 of the stitched stars to cut the colours, then placed them behind the card front and popped up on dimensionals, lastly mounting the card front on a Thick Whisper White card base, and there you have it, a fun Children's birthday card! Peony Garden All Star Blog Hop

Happy Friday and welcome to the new look All Star Tutorial Team. Today we have more projects featuring the gorgeous Peony Garden Suite. After a few crazy busy weeks at my not so 9 to 5 day job, some colour therapy was needed; I find colouring relaxes me and helps me unwind, how about you? I used light & dark Highland Heather & Old Olive Stampin' Blends, then added Light Pool Party around the edge of the images - all the time using the Color Lifter to help blend the colours to my liking. To finish I added a strip of Basic Black cardstock and some black ink splatters.  Continue through the list below to see more creations from the design team: Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Celebrate Sunflowers

I can't believe it's October, another month has gone by, on the plus side we are closed to the end of 2020, and a new All Star Tutorial Bundle is available. This month we are showcasing the Flowers for Every Season suite, I've been using the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle for my creations. I made this card with a recipient in mind, so that's why the non traditional flower colour theme, but to be honest I think it looks great. I purposely left some of the die cut pieces in the flowers to an extra hint of Coastal Cabana contrast to the Bermuda Bay background. I used a Stampin Marker to underline the sentiment, and of course I had to add a little bling, just a hint of Metallic Mesh Ribbon behind the banner and some shimmer paint for the centre of the sunflowers. In Good Taste | All Star Tutorial Blog Hop

Happy Friday and welcome to this month's All Star Tutorial Hop featuring the In Good Taste Suite. So funny story (not so funny at the time), today's card was intended for my tutorial, but..... lets say after significant and repeated technical difficulties (that may or may not have ended in tears) it became my second project for the Design Team. My flowers are water coloured using Magenta Madness and Mango Melody, then fussy cut, the foliage is stamped directly onto the card base with a little splash of Balmy Blue to soften the card base, I've really become a fan of the splatter technique with flowers lately. A thin border of Magenta Madness really made the flowers pop, then to  finish with some pretty Gold Glitter Enamel Dots & Champagne Shimmer Paint in the centre of the flowers for a touch of bling. Be sure to continue through the list below to see more creations from the In Good Taste Suite from the design team:

Art Gallery Painted Texture - All Star Tutorial Blog Hop Jan 2021

Hello and welcome to my first post for the year, and also to join me with the new All Star Tutorial Design Team Blog Hop. I've fallen in love with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder, so I've made a card for today featuring this as well as the images and die cuts from the Art Gallery Bundle. The flowers are a 2 stamp process, I've used Petal Pink with Calypso Coral (stamped off once).  I stamped the base image twice and trimmed the flowers off so as to get the Soft Sea Foam leaves. Lastly I added a touch of bling with Champagne Rhinestones.  Be sure to continue through the list below to see more creations from the Flowers for Every Season Suite from the design team: Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project.
