Playing in the Rain - more options with masking technique

Inspiration can come from the oddest of things or places - I woke up to the sound of rain on the roof this morning and decided it was time to get inky with Playing in the Rain My colour choice is from this weeks Global Design Challenge - Tahitian Tide scares me a little as it is so bright, but it turns out to be fantastic and give a nice lift of colour on my card I think! I used the cloud die from  Basic Borders  for the upper portion of the card, blending Tahitian Tide to give the layers a viewable lift and stand out.  Stampin Blends  and a Colour Lifter created the lights and darks for the focal image using the colours from the challenge. As you can see from the stamp set images, I did a mismash of the images, starting with the rabbit, then masking and overlaying the fox to stamp the umbrella - masking is one of my favourite techniques, whilst it can be a little tricky with some designs the results are well worth it, giving you so much more flexibility with creati...

Sweet Gingerbread for #GDP365

Hello crafters, I'm getting back in my groove with another colour challenge, this time from the Global Design Project , and I'm just adoring these colours as a Christmas alternative with a hint of Pink! I was inspired to get out my Sweet Gingerbread bundle after I saw a gorgeous creation by Mikaela Titheridge . For my design I decided to add a  Wonderful Snowflake and compliment some Iridescent Pearls. I used the lollypop stamp around the edge of the card base to create pretty swirls, for adding my raised card front which I splattered with a Stampin' Write marker. This super cute set is photopolymer so it is easy to line up your stamping on the gingerbread house, and there are lots of coordinating dies to cut elements like the windows, door and roof if you don't want to stamp  them in your design, lots of ways to mix and match - why not grab yourself the bundle today? Artfully Layered for #GDP 347 Challenge

Hello crafty friends, it's been a while since I joined in with the Global Design Project - Theme Challenge , but I couldn't resist when I saw Madeleine Mrotzek gorgeous card (you can see it here ). I pulled out my Artfully Layered Bundle before it retires at the end of the month and started creating. I decided on a ombre type theme, using a piece of the Abstract Beauty DSP that also retires soon. I used Mint Macaron with the leaf dies and also used the edge die for some interest on the Basic White Layer.  I used Dimensionals to raise the strip of Basic White and positioned the leaves under it. After stamping the sentiment I added some tiny leaves and Polished Dots and applied a hint of Wink of Stella to the solid leaf under the sentiment and tiny leaves for a touch of bling. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month. Daffodil Daydream

Welcome back friends, today I've used a bundle from the upcoming Jan-June Mini Catalogue - Daffodil Daydream. The stamp set features gorgeous daffodils, and a cute little butterfly as well as a stunning edge stamp. I just couldn't wait to use them, and the images have coordinating dies, so no fussy cutting, and also has dies that you can cut and create daffodils with out stamping - 24 dies in the bundle in total. After colouring the daffodils with light and dark Soft Sea Foam and So Saffron Stampin Blends I paired the arrangement with a sentiment from the Best Year stamp set (from the Annual Catalogue). I decided I needed another pop of colour so added butterflies coloured with Fresh Freesia and a touch of Balmy Blue, and some Matte Black Dots. The layout of my card was inspired by this weeks sketch challenge at the Global Design Project . Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the prod...

Sending Hugs with Heartfelt Wishes #GDP321

Welcome, thanks for stopping by today. I'm playing along with the Global Design Project colour challenge this week - such lovely colours inspired a Christmas Card for me. I mixed up things by using the Sending Hugs stamp set for my background, using the colours to bring "Christmas" to card using  a mixture of Stampin' Blends & Watercolour Pencils to colour the image. I added texture with the Tasteful Texture 3D Embossing Folder, then added the sentiment for Heartfelt Wishes which was perfect to hide "hugs, making a lovely Christmassy card. The only thing left to do was to add a touch of bling with Wonderful Gems - and there it is, a lovely Christmas card using a "non christmas" stamp set. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the products I used below, just click on the picture and be taken directly to the product.  I truly appreciate your support, it insp...
