All Star Design Team - Mediterranean Blooms

Hello crafters, a new month, means a new bundle from the All Star Design Team. This month we are showcasing the Mediterranean Blooms suite. The All Star Design Team not only design a Tutorial Project that’s exclusive but we also each design an additional project to share here for further inspiration. I used the masking technique to stamp down the edge of the card front, one of my favourite techniques as it can give a totally different look to a stamped design when it is overlaid multiple times to cover a larger space on your card than just simply stamping. I decided to do a "wash of colour" using watercolour pencils for todays design as my previous projects have had quite vivid colouring, I like to think of it as "less is more". To fill the fruit I lightly applied ink to a blending brush and lightly applied. After stamping the sentiment I added a little bling with rhinestones, and I was done - I was surprised how quickly this card came together. Mediterranean Blooms...

Abundant Beauty - masking with Decorative Masks!

Hello there my crafty friends, I have a treat for you today - a technique video! I love, love the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks, and for my 2 for 1 creation I have used the masking technique to overlay the flowers - so much fun, it did take a little longer than I thought, but I think you will agree the finished cards are well worth the effort. You can see all the details on how I created the card front's on my video, just click here . My video is part of the Night Angels Global Video Hop - this month demonstrators from around the globe are highlight items from the new Mini Catalogue, lots to see, and lots of ideas to boot. You can view the hop by finding the next demonstrator in the Description section of the video on You Tube. I can't decide which layout I like the best? Do you have a preference? Let me know in the comments :) Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month. I’ve listed the products I use...

Playing in the Rain - more options with masking technique

Inspiration can come from the oddest of things or places - I woke up to the sound of rain on the roof this morning and decided it was time to get inky with Playing in the Rain My colour choice is from this weeks Global Design Challenge - Tahitian Tide scares me a little as it is so bright, but it turns out to be fantastic and give a nice lift of colour on my card I think! I used the cloud die from  Basic Borders  for the upper portion of the card, blending Tahitian Tide to give the layers a viewable lift and stand out.  Stampin Blends  and a Colour Lifter created the lights and darks for the focal image using the colours from the challenge. As you can see from the stamp set images, I did a mismash of the images, starting with the rabbit, then masking and overlaying the fox to stamp the umbrella - masking is one of my favourite techniques, whilst it can be a little tricky with some designs the results are well worth it, giving you so much more flexibility with creati...

Daffodil Daydream Silhouette

Happy weekend crafty friends. I've used one of my favourite techniques to add a pop of colour to todays card - Masking. I started by stamping my image, then coloured the daffodils - I used Stampin' Blends, you could also use watercolour pencils. Then I cut a circle from a scrap piece of cardstock and positioned over the stamped image (masking the remainder of the card front), then lightly applied Balmy Blue to the circle using a Blending Brush. Next I added Soft Sea Foam to the leaves, only colouring to the edge of the circle.  Then I stamped the sentiment and added Holiday Rhinestones for a touch of bling to finish. A simple design with a little WOW factor created by the using a mask #simplestamping Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the products I used below, just click on the picture and be taken directly to the product.  I truly appreciate your support, it inspires me...

CC Jan-June Mini Catalogue Highlight

Hello crafters and welcome to the Crafty Collaborations Mini Catalogue Blog Hop - we have so much to show you from the January to June 2022 mini catalogue, lets just jump right in. One of the first things on my wish list...who an I kidding, my MUST have list, was the Butterflies & Flowers  Layering Decorative Masks . I was fascinated of how the layered masks would work and what I could do with them, and I am happy to so I was not disappointed at all, in fact, I am over the moon with this product. This card would be suited for an avid or intermediate crafter that really likes the masking technique . I started by using Blending Brushes to apply the base colour of the butterfly in Mango Melody fading to So Saffron with a little Soft Suede around the edge, then using the other portion of the butterfly mask added the detail of the wings with Cinnamon Cider , taking care to use scrap paper to mask of the white space on the card. Then for the flowers, I traced the outline of the b...
