Color Fusers Blog Hop April 2024

It's time for this month's Color Fusers Monthly Blog Hop! This month, our colors include Parakeet Party, Granny Apple Green and Calypso Coral - straight away I thought of flowers, and decided to use the soon to be retiring Two-Tone Flora stamp set. I used a Blending Brush to colour the background, and used one of the Basic Border Dies to create the "banner look" at the bottom of the panel. I used 1st and 2nd generation stamping for the flowers to create the two tones, and daubers to ink the based of the leaves in granny Apple Green and the tips in Parakeet Party. Happy Birthday to you with Zany Zoo

Hello crafty friends, I've been up early and got most of my weekend chores out of the way and rewarded myself with some extra time to get creating today - I'm playing along with 2 challenges: I've used one of the super cute critters from the Zany Zoo bundle to capture Crumb Cake and Mossy Meadow, and cut a "cloud template" with my fav Basic Border die and blended Misty Moonlight clouds. After blending the clouds I cut 4 Deckled Rectangles , encasing the sentiment; as well as 4 Basic White rectangles. I made a double layer with the rectangle before slotting in place on the card front to give the silhouette feature some pop. No bling for this card as the colours lean towards a masculine themed card - oh wow, look at that, normally my nemesis and I did without thinking, but I'm so happy with this super cute card! Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month. I’ve listed the products I used ...

Color Fusers Blog Hop June 2023

Hello everyone, it's the beginning of a new month, so that means it's time for this month's Color Fusers Monthly Blog Hop! This month, our creations will feature the new pink - Bubble Bath, the returning Pretty Peacock, and Pool Party. I decided on the pastel approach, I began with creating my background with a paper stencil cut using the cloud die from Basic Borders , working from Pretty Peacock to Pool Party and finishing with Bubble Bath towards the bottom of the card, moving the stencil a little each time so as to not have identical clouds in a line. I was excited to try a creation with the Beautiful Balloons Bundle - I traced the outside edge of the balloon die then blended each colour, leaving the right hand side a little lighter, the inked up the "detail" stamp for the balloons just on the left and stamped.  Once die cut, I then stamped the ribbon and sentiment, before mounting the balloons with Dimensionals . Be sure to continue on through the rest of t...

Playing in the Rain - more options with masking technique

Inspiration can come from the oddest of things or places - I woke up to the sound of rain on the roof this morning and decided it was time to get inky with Playing in the Rain My colour choice is from this weeks Global Design Challenge - Tahitian Tide scares me a little as it is so bright, but it turns out to be fantastic and give a nice lift of colour on my card I think! I used the cloud die from  Basic Borders  for the upper portion of the card, blending Tahitian Tide to give the layers a viewable lift and stand out.  Stampin Blends  and a Colour Lifter created the lights and darks for the focal image using the colours from the challenge. As you can see from the stamp set images, I did a mismash of the images, starting with the rabbit, then masking and overlaying the fox to stamp the umbrella - masking is one of my favourite techniques, whilst it can be a little tricky with some designs the results are well worth it, giving you so much more flexibility with creati...
