Statement of the Heart with Watercolor Wings

Hello again, today I have something special for you. Special because my project features a limited edition stamp. The Statement of the Heart stamp is only available as part of the early release Share What You Love Suite "Gotta Have it All Bundle" , and you only have til May 31st to be able to order, it won't be available after this date. I find butterflies to be beautiful and uplifting, so I thought they were the perfect accompaniment for the Statement of the Heart.  These butterflies are all from the Watercolor Wings stamp set , and use a 3-step process to layer the images - I used retiring colours Peekaboo Peach, Tangerine Tango and Chocolate Chip. Being photoploymer it is quite simple to line up the images, even more so if you use the Stamparatus (available 1st June) If you simply must have either of these stamp sets, don't delay, act now, as come they are only available til May 31st. Watercolor Wings - below are some other project...

Ink it! Stamp it! | Sponge Brayer Backgrounds

Hello and welcome to the Ink it! Stamp it! Blog Hop, this month we are going to share a technique with you.  After a lot of contemplating, I decided a background technique using Sponge Brayers, here's the finished card: I adore the ombre effect you can achieve using the sponge brayers, a tip I would give is "less is more", slowly build your colour, you can't remove the ink once it's on your card, but you can always add more! The other reason it took me so long to decide on my project was that I was pondering over which retiring products to use - several of the items on this card will be retiring on May 31st. I used Shimmery White Cardstock for the background, it looks gorgeous in real life, try as I did, I just couldn't get a good photo of the shimmer. My colour combination is Island Indigo, Soft Sky and Sweet Sugarplum - all retiring colours, likewise the Butterflies Thinlets and the sentiment from Watercolor Wings - I so do ador...

INKspiration for Watercolour Wings with FMS277

I've stepped out of my comfort zone today, I'm using yellow! Any shade of yellow is not a "go to" colour for me, so when I saw this fortnight's INKspiration challenge, well..... I was challenged, lol        I love the images provided for the INKspiration challenge, but try and try I struggled to come up with a design, so I started looking at other challenges, then when choosing a stamp set for Freshly Made Sketches I saw it, Watercolour Wings and it dawned on me.... purple and yellow butterflies :-) Watercolour Wings is such a beautiful stamp set, being photopolymer it is easy to stamp the layered patterns for the butterfly. I stamped 3 butterflies, 2 on Whisper White and 1 on Vellum, to keep the colours subtle I stamped off once before stamping on the cardsotck and vellum, the exception being the body of the butterfly. I used the FMS277 layout, for my first card I added a layer of Delightful Dijon and some Crushed Curry Bakers Twine ...
