Color Fusers Blog Hop July 2022

Hello crafters, welcome to this month's Color Fusers Monthly Blog Hop! This month, our colors include Petal Pink, Poppy Parade & Smoky Slate. Now, Poppy Parade isn't a colour that I use much, its quite bright and I'm more a pastel kinda gal. That got me thinking, and I decided to water colour flowers because then I could control how deep or pastel to make Poppy Parade. I started by stamping the flowers and leaves from the Happiness Abounds Bundle onto a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock , covered with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set. To add colour I first flooded a little water using the mid size Water Painter to the centres of the flowers and where I wanted the colour to be darker, then using the smallest Water Painter I picked up colour from my Poppy Parade ink pad and added to the water, then left to dry. When dry or almost dry I repeated the process to fill the remainder of the flower with Petal Pink, to later cut with the coordinating Blossoming Happi...

Bloom & Grow from the bottom your heart

Another day, another project - I do like this being on holidays gig, I get to do lots of mid week crafting! Todays card is inspired by the colour challenge at Fab Friday , when I saw it my thoughts went to cornflower blue and yellow flowers, then all that was left was to decide which floral stamp set to use. I decided on the Bloom & Grow set as it already has "clusters" of flowers, so perfect for what I had in mind. After stamping the image I quickly added clear embossing power and then heat set - this creates a border for watercolouring, which was my plan as I wanted to tone down Bumblebee for my design. After colouring and die cutting, all that was left was the sentiment, stamped in Gray Granite then cut with stitched shapes and framed with a scalloped oval, I added a little Champagne Shimmer paint to the flowers, and adhered to the card front. There you have it, a lovely feminine card and not a hint of pink anywhere on the card! Thanks for visiting today, I hope you e...

Creating Kindness Design Team Blog Hop - All about Florals

I'm super excited to share with you that I'm a Guest Designer with the Creating Kindness Design Team this month, it's such an honour! This month's theme is FLORAL, and if you follow me, you know that flowers are "my thing". The team will be sharing lots of ideas to inspire your floral creativity. I was totally sold on the Last a Lifetime stamp set when I saw it in the Mini Catalogue, and that is what my project today is featuring. I started by stamping and colouring the floral image with Stampin Blends in Poppy Parade and Mint Macaron, then cut with the coordinating Dies, next was the circle frame, it's 2 layers - using the largest Stitched Shapes circle die, and then placing the corresponding Layered Circle Die to create a fine frame (the edge of the plain circle die lined up perfectly with the outer edge of the Stitched Shapes circle die, making it super easy to cut out). I used a Poppy Parade Stampin Marker for the Love ...
