One for the Boy

I really surprised myself with this card, masculine themed cards don't normally come easy to me. I don't really know what made this masculine card "easy" for me, maybe it was the fact that I used the DSP to determine the colours? Anyway, I'll take whatever it was, because I love this card. For added texture on the heart background I ran it through the Subtle Embossing folder twice, turning 90 degrees for the second pass, creating a crisscross effect. I also raised the outer heart by cutting 2 additional layers for extra height....and partly because I changed my mind from Balmy Blue to Night of Navy, hahaha! I used Stampin' Blends for my colouring, and lastly added some Linen Thread for embellisment. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month. I’ve listed the products I used below.  Hovering over the product name and clicking on the underlined text wil...

Double the fun with Twinkle Twinkle

WooooHoooo! I did it, 31 days of creating with Designer Series Paper! Amazing what can be done with DSP when you actually cut into those beautiful pages. Just before we get to todays project  I'd like to say how honoured I am to have been selected as a favourite for CTS #280, what a surprise! CAS(E) this sketch has been an amazing source of inspiration for me with my DSP challenge, and I'm back again today with CTS #282 The stripes in this sketch immediately grabbed  my attention, then the choice... what DSP to use? After viewing the teams creations, I decided on Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper , the coordinating stripes and star patterns were too beautiful to pass up (woot that's 2 pieces of DSP in this card), and work perfectly with  Animal Outing to create a baby card: After stamping with Memento ink, I coloured with Stampin' Blends and used the Colour lifter to lighten and soften. My sentiment is embossed , and I added ...

Twinkle Twinkle Animal Outing #WWYS 176

Welcome to another week of What Will You stamp? , this week we are showcasing the SUPER cute Animal Outing stamp set . If critters are you thing, this set is for you, and not only does it have matching framelits (purchase as a bundle and save 10% ), but also Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper , super cute all around! Being from Australia I was tempted to stamp with the Kangaroo and Koala, but I couldn't resist the Rhino. I started by watercolouring the Rhino with an Aqua Painter , using a little Balmy Blue for the sky, I continued the pastel theme for the bird too, using colours to coordinate with the Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper to make a gorgeous baby card. I used various framelits to cut the sentiments and create elements of interest reflecting the stars and dots from the DSP, there is a list at the bottom of this post.  Head over and check out the projects with this set from the Design Team here , we would love you to part...

Around the Corner with Animal Expedition

Challenges are a great way to find inspiration, today I'm playing along at Freshly Made Sketches I was particularly inspired by Jen Mitchells creation, so much so that I reached for Crushed Curry (so not one of my "go to" colours, here's my project: Continuing with my personal DSP challenge for July, I used a super cute image from the Animal Expedition Designer Series paper in this card.  The sentiment frame is stamped using the Around the Corner set - it's photopolymner, super easy to line up with the corner of your cardstock to stamp. I just couldn't resist adding the triangular edging from the  Delicate Lace Edgelits .  I ended up with a large area of "yellow space" - the card needed something more (could just be that I am not at ease with "yellows"), I decided to run the diagonal layer through the BigShot with the Subtle embossing folder, adding that touch of texture really made a difference! Th...
