School Days with #GDP259

School holidays have just begun in Adelaide, so this weeks Global Design theme is quite fitting in a reverse kind of way! In the crazy year of 2020, school has taken many turns for a lot of us, from starting as normal, to being online based at home; for some, they have been able to return to class rooms, other remain at home working online, my hats off to all that are working through this with their kids, it can be a challenge on some days. One thing that remains the same for school is ABC and 123, and that's what I've based my design on today: I used the Playful Alphabet dies   from the Playing with Patterns Suite to create  my school themed "embossed" background, cutting the letters and numbers with Thick Whisper White cardstock and arranging them randomly, finishing by adding a pop of colour to just 3 letters. I've also embossed the card base with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder , it gives softens the card and really made the die embossed background p...

Up & Away with Party Panda

One of the things that I love about Stampin' Up! is how easy it is to mix and match  stamp sets and framelits to create a project. Today I've combined products to make my scene with one of the adorable Party Pandas (free stamp set with Sale-a-Bration this year) Believe it or not I got the inspiration for this card from a storm warning I received on my phone! I stamped "the balloons that got away" by masking the panda then lengthened the strings by hand drawing them. Using a dauber I lightly sponged Soft Sky around the panda and balloons - remember when sponging less can be more when creating your effect. Lastly I stamped the larger cloud from the Lift Me Up set and then die cut with the Up & Away thinlets, then layered the clouds to complete the scene. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project.  I would love to update you when I create a post! If you would like to receive an email from me when I do  Click Here . Magical Day with Crazy Crafters Special Guest Su Mohr

Hello and welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Su Mohr. You may be familiar with her blog Aromas and Art - what a wonderful combination!  As special guest we have the task of CASEing (Copy and Selectively Edit) one of Su's designs, I was all prepared and then I saw this wonderful creation and I changed my plans! The theme for Su's card was "All that Sparkes and Shines",... you had me at Sparkles! I immediately knew that the Magical Days stamp set form page 37 of the 2018 Occasions Catalogue would be broken out of it's packaging, along with lots of bling. I saw shimmering clouds and a glittering Unicorn on a Magical Day, and decided to make a shaker card - it's been ages since I made one of these, they are so much fun. I used the new Shimmery White Embossing paste (pg 13 Occasions catalogue) for my clouds, they turned out beautifully and embellished with Silver Baker's Twine (also pg 13). Stampin Blends were perfec...

Everyday Hero | FMS279

Party time for my daughter today as she went to a birthday celbration with a Superhero theme, the birthday boy really likes the Marvel characters, Ironman was featured on his invitations and cake, and mmmmm, that cake was good! My daughter CASEd the Catty and I also applied the elements in this weeks FMS challenge , It was the perfect opportunity to use Everyday Hero to create a card for my daughters special friend, here is my creation: I took creative licence with the banners, and moved them to one side, in the theme of a flowing super hero cape I curled the banners, you can see here: The sentiment from Balloon Adventures sums up perfectly what  these 2 friends will do in the next 12 mths... Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project.  I would love to update you when I create a post! If you would like to receive an email from me when I do  Click Here .
