Whimsical Star Burst

Hello crafty friends, todays card was inspired by a Martin Stone creation . I loved the layout so much I just had to give it a try, and it uses my favourite stamp set this season - Whimsical Trees. I'm also playing along with this weeks Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I changed the colours up using Blushing Bride and gold embossing, and used Blending Brushes to deepen the centre of the star burst. My sentiment comes from the Banner Year stamp set, and the additional bling from Wonderful Gems and a swirl of Simply Elegant Trim. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the products I used below, just click on the picture and be taken directly to the product.  I truly appreciate your support, it inspires me to keep crafting and helps to keep my blog and YouTube channel running. If you live in Australia and don't already have a Demonstrator I'd love to be yours.  Stitched Stars ...

Happy Birthday with Stitched Stars

Welcome back crafty friends, this afternoon I thought I would join a sketch challenge over at CAS Colours & Sketches - what better way to get mojo running after a busy weekend.  I love the idea of the repeat sentiment stamping, it's a great way to make a statement on your card, here's what I was inspired to create: After choosing the Happy Birthday sentiment from Artistically Inked stamp set I used the Stamparatus to do the repeat stamping, keeping it simple with just Black ink. For a pop of colour I cut stars with Pacific Point, Poppy Parade and Daffodil Delight, lastly adding some Matte Black Dots Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stitched Stars for CC&S #396

After a beautiful day yesterday, today has been hot, hot & hot & windy, so I made the most of needing to be indoors by participating in this weeks CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. It took me a while to come up with my interpretation of the sketch, the bold lines were throwing me I think, then I came up with this: After cutting the largest star and stamping the sentiment, all that was left to do was cut more stars variety of sizes and colours, to tie everything together I ruled dotted lines with a fine maker, decreasing the size towards the edge and the bottom of the card. To create more interest to the eye, I overlapped and popped some of the stars on dimensionals, and also added a hint of Wink of Stella over the ruled lines. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the products I used below, just click on the picture and be taken directly to the product.  I tru...

Stitched Stars - Anything but a Card with Blogging Friends

Hello and welcome to this months Blogging Friends Hop, our theme this month..... "Anything but a Card! My first thought of anything but a card was a treat box, but when reorganising my pantry I found inspiration with a Christmas Cookie tower.........so I've made a 3D project. I used the 5 largest Stitched Stars Dies, and cut 3 of each (2 in one colour and 1 in a different tone), colours I used are Mossy Meadow, Garden Green, Old Olive, Granny Apple Green and Pear Pizzazz. Next I ran all the stars through the Old World Paper 3D Embossing folder to give them texture. Then there was the assembly...... I used a flat button between each star with glue dots, or if the button was a bit concave a Dimensional, in hind-site using 3 dimensionals between each star may have been a better option as it would have given the tree a little more stability, but you learn as you create don't you :) Be sure to continue through the list below to see more inspiring creations, you're currently...
