Crazy Crafters Blog Hop | Special Guest Lea Denton

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Lea Denton from the United Kingdom, you may also know her as The Crafty Spark. Part of what I love about our blog hops is choosing a project to CASE - Copy and Selectively Edit, today I decided the below card by Lea: I love the layout of Lea's card, the flower popping out around the sentiment, and the layers (I just love layers) and that cute bow! Here's my take on Lea's project: I've used the Cottage Greetings set to create my card, I'm sad to see it is retiring, the flowers are so cute, and I adore the the font of the sentiments too. I've used watercolour pencils with a blender pen to colour the flowers - it was very relaxing.  The stamping did take some time, but that is the control freak in me.... I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to place the flowers, well worth the effort I think. I cut an oval and masked the centre of my card, then lightly pencilled lines from corner to corner and...

Funky Flower Patch

I was ask to make a special card for an 18th Birthday - I decided a "Fun Fold" was in order! I saw an adorable Tri-step card whilst crusing Pinterest on the train the other morning, and it was the inspiration for this 18th Birthday Card. The Number of Years  stamp set and co-ordinating Large Number Framelits  are perfect for a special "age" card - well actually, you can make any birthday or anniversary special with these!   They are available as a Bundle  Bundle til 31st May 2016, after that the items are still available but will need to be purchased separately. I used the smaller flowers from Flower Patch  to create my funky back ground and the co-ordinating Flower Fair Framelits  for the "pop up" flowers.  These are also  available as a  Bundle  til 31st May 2016, after that the items are still available but will need to be purchased separately. The sentiment is from Cottage Greetings  - it pairs perfectly for thi...

In Bloom with Flowering Fields

Last week I used the lovely Flowering Fields from Sale-A-Bration, and instantly fell in love with this set. I find colouring with Aqua Painters quite therapeutic.  Today I have combined it with stamps and thinlets from a Number of Years   I gained inspiration from the 3 challenges below! Here is a close up of the water colouring, I love how you can add depth of colour by layer more ink as you go, can you see the subtle contrast in Blushing Bride on the main flower?   I used a masking technique so that I didn't over stamp on the flowers, by using the Stamp-a-ma-jig I was able to work out the layout for the design.  The sentiment is from Cottage Greetings. I hope you have enjoyed viewing my card today; the Flowering Fields stamp set is available for a limited time, so don't miss out; below are the products used: Use the current Hostess code displayed at the top of my blog at the check out and you will be eligible for...

Party Wishes with Cup Cakes #GDP021

It's probably not a surprise that I like Pink, but how adorable is this colour combination for a Cup Cake card! I've been waiting to try out the Party Wishes bundle, and after seeing Kylie Bertucci's icecream card cup cakes were calling!  I tried lots of different options, I stamped them in individual colours, used the masking technique to mixed up the "icing" , but in the end I opted for Pink on top (what a surprise). No fussy cutting cup cakes required, the Party Wishes bundle has that covered with Punch!  I also used the masking technique to get my plate stand. I love the look and feel of the Hardwood background stamp - I think it's just perfect for this design.  I stamped using Versamark - you could call it a cheat, but imagine lining up all those panels for the roof! I sponge daubers on the edges using the relevant ink for added depth. The base of the stand is popped up on dimensionals. The sentiment is from the C...

Playful Pals Baby Congrats

I've been back experimenting with Playful Pals again, today's featured Pal is cute little bunny! I am playing along with Pals Paper Arts sketch for this week I improvised with the bunny's head by cutting a 1.5 in circle, I stamped in Soft Slate, then after I silver embossed the sentiment from the Cottage Greeting stamp set decided that I would also emboss the bunny.... so I stamped and cut another!  The cute dotted background is stamped using the Playful Pals set too - I will be making use of that little stamp again for sure. I am just loving my Wink of Stella Glitter Brush - can you see the touch of glitter on bow? Flowering Fields Thanks

The moment I saw this weeks CAS(E) the Sketch! challenge I knew the stamp set I would use.   I have taken the sketch quite literally, but I just couldn't help using the lovely  Flowering Fields Sale-A-Bration stamp set I stamped in Basic Black then used Aqua Painters to colour. I added a touch of Wink of Stella on the adorable little butterfly and some of the flowers - it's really difficult to get a good photo, it looks stunning in the flesh! I hope you have enjoyed viewing my project today; below are the base products I used in my design: Use the current Hostess code displayed at the top of my blog at the check out and you will be eligible for a Thank You gift for for shopping with me  - Learn more  here  - be sure to click YES that you allow me as your demonstrator to contact you in your account settings otherwise I won't be able to forward your Thank You gift.  I would love to update you when I creat...
