Falling In Love #loveitchopit

Do you have a fear? Is that fear cutting into your beloved Designer Series Paper? My project today was inspired by an incident when I was leaving work I have a extreme phobia of snakes, I can't even look at a picture without jumping out of my skin; so when I realised that there were live snakes outside the exit to work this afternoon I was beside myself - they were contained but I could still see them and they were moving, and I was terrified! A work colleague saw my distress (and lack of colour in my face) and blocked my view and talked to me so that I was distracted so that I could get past the snakes and to my car, I am so thankful. Enough about that fear, onto happy thoughts.  I love DSP, but to cut into a piece - oh my what a challenge, and in another way a fear! What if I cut into the piece wrong, what if I don't utilise my cuts and waste this beautiful DSP - I could go on! But I did it, I opened the lovely "Falling in Love" DSP pack and cut into a...

Gorgeous Grunge | Hardwood | Ink Pad holder

Howdy everyone, I've been really busy today with a project that I have been wanting to do for months!  So why today, well I started to clean up and reorganise my crafting area, then when I created a space, inspiration hit - and that was it for cleaning up, but I did manage to finish this: I picked the craft wood turntable from a clearance rack in a craft store back in the new year, had the idea that it would be great for storing my ink pads and other regularly used items. Apart from roughly putting it together to make sure I had all the parts, I didn't get much further Initially my plan was to paint and then decorate with DSP, but then today I got the idea of stamping.  I reached for my Gorgeous Grunge  set without blinking and started - oh my there are lots of parts when you start stamping! I needed something more, then again, inspiration, why not use the Hardwood  Background stamp - it worked a treat.  For the larger sections...

Weathered Hardwood by Gorgeous Grunge

I've been experimenting with a shabby chic style today, using Hardwood background stamp trying to get a weathered effect, I'm quite happy with the effect some sponging and Gorgeous Grunge has had on this project today   The idea to try a weathered, shabby chic effect came about when I was contemplating how I could use the lovely colours in Pals Paper Arts challenge this week - inspiration comes from the oddest of memories,.... I had a flash back of a weather wooden seat. I've used a base of Very Vanilla, I stamped the ink off of the Gorgeous Grunge  and randomly stamped, then I stamped over with Hardwood  using Crumb Cake and sponged the edges.     Now I had this lovely background, I incorporated the lay out from CAS(E) this sketch       I knew I wanted to have a butterfly as a feature - Butterfly Basics bundle  is great, 3 framelits to choose from, and keeping with the weathered look I incorporated anothe...

Thank You So Much Perfect Pairings

What are the two words that can so easily brighten someone's day, put a smile on their face, make them feel appreciated - Thank You I have used 2 of the sentiments from Perfect Pairings, and as this is intended for someone who has helped me with so many things, it seemed perfect to repeat stamp and combine the 2nd sentiment. Perfect Pairings one of the FREE Sale-a-Bration stamp set that is only available til March 31.  This fantastic set has 9 sentiments that can be mixed and matched to create just the perfect wording for you project. I've also used Gorgeous Grunge   for the background with Pool Party and Bermuda Bay.  I couldn't help but add a touch of bling with Metallics Sequin Assortment   Thank You - what an awesome theme from Global Design Project this week.   I'm also taking part with Stamp Ink's Pater sketch challenge.  Thanks for visiting today, I would love to update you when I create a ...

Masculine Birthday Card in a Box

Every time I see a Card in a Box, I admire and I think I must try that; well today I did, here is my first card in a box: I have used the colour theme from Stamp Ink Papers current challenge as my colour base for my Masculine Card in a Box I always struggle with ideas for stamping with Masculine cards, and I must admit I was stuck for some time then it was Gorgeous Grunge to the rescue and then inspiration flowed, I just couldn't stop myself, this is definitely not a "less is more" project! I triple, yes triple you did read right, heat embossed the Birthday years - this gave them a super smooth finish.  The Number of Years bundle is fantastic, stamps and framelits so you can accommodate any year. I went a bit crazy with cutting stars and punching balloons, but it was so much fun seeing the project take shape as I layered it up. The is a larger panel on the back for you to write your special birthday message. I hope you have en...

Love Gorgeous Grunge

This is a different kind of card design for me today, trying less is more, not sure if I achieved it or not! I have heat embossed the Red heart with the Love sentiment from You're so Sweet and die cut; and stamped Gorgeous Grunge behind on the Whisper White & layered onto the red card base - I tried to stop there, but I felt the card needed something a little more, so spun some Gold thread on the back of the heart before popping it up on dimensionals. I have gained inspiration and combined 3 great challenges: I have converted the little hearts to the splatters in Gorgeous Grunge and Gold Thread, topped with the Red die cut heart. I hope you have enjoyed viewing my Love themed card; below are the products I used in my design: Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog Use the current Hostess code displayed at the top of my blog at the check out and you will be eligible for a Thank You gift for for shopping with me  - Learn more...
