Masculine themed cards don't come naturally to me, pinks, purples, flowers and cute images and a little bling are more my thing! So when Father's Day comes around it is always a bit of a challenge...... but this year was a little easier.  My husband's family are musically minded and all play instruments (unlike me how is tone deaf to say the least, hahaha), so with that in mind the Sheet Music background stamp was just perfect for the base of my card. Basic black stamped on Very Vanilla, with a touch of Crumb Cake sponging, so quick an easy! I love the effect of the hint of the Basic Black layer before adding to the Crumb Cake card base - it changed the whole look of the card. You will never be without a sentiment with the Large Letters framelits , and to make "DAD" pop I added a basic black layer offset ever so slightly, and sponged the egdes with a little Crumb Cake to add to the vintage feel of the card. Welcome to our International Blog Highlight for the month of June, the theme this month is "Baby".  I like to have a couple of these on hand, as you never know when a little person decides to enter the world..... my daughter decided that she was ready 7 weeks before her due date! The Moon Baby stamp set is super cute, I decided to make my own background by heat embossing in Silver for Boys, and Copper for Girls as it always reminds me of rose gold. I cut the sentiment/gender using the Large Letters Framelits , to line up the inside of the letters after I mounted on the coloured cardstock I simply popped the die cuts back in and then the little bits of the "B, O and R" could be glued in to position perfectly. Do you ever have a card that you are not 100% happy with?
