Nothing's Better Than.... Fun in the Sun

Fun in the Sun..... I'm in the southern hemisphere, so I wish! It seems like weeks that I've had thermals and the heater on at home, so even the thought of Fun in the Sun makes me feel a little warmer. When I think of a fun in the sun day, it is with family and friends, and in more cases than not there would be a favourite bevvy involved, so I decided that the Nothing's Better Than stamp set was perfect! I've used Polished Pink, Tahitian Tide and Coastal Cabana as my colour theme, I used the Deckled Rectangle dies to "tear" the sides of the cardstock; these dies are now my "go to" for rough finishes as I don't like tearing cardstock by hand - weird I know, but hey it's just a "me thing". As July is watercolour month, I used that theme for the Shimmery White background and colouring of my cocktails. I added some shimmer to the glasses with Wink of Stella, and some Tahitian Tide In Color Twine twine and Basic Rhinestone Gems to fini...

Step it up with Blogging Friends

Welcome to this months Blogging Friends blog hop, our theme is “Step it Up”. I think the Nothing's better than. ... is a perfect stamp set for the beginner through to the artfully avid crafter. I've created 3 cards, with the same basic design, just changing the feature element, lets start with  a very simple one layer card: Next is a card that incorporates a Blushing Bride card base with a highlighting Soft Suede strip and some colour added with a blending brush behind the stamping: And lastly a card with colour on colour background stamping, layered onto the card base, and layers of die cuts - the frame is 3 die cuts adhered together to create height/interest, and one of the 3 die cut cookies is raised with dimensionals, I also curved the "Cookies" stamp when fixing it on the clear block: There you have it, one stamp set/bundle 3 different ways! Do as much or as little as you want, after all there is on right or wrong way when creating a hand made card, let you imagi...

Today's Plan: Cocktails!

Hello, today's card is a shout out to my Victorian friends who are currently in a COVID19 lockdown, I hope you're all doing well. The colours and layout for the card are from 2 of my favourite Challenge Blogs: I started by stamping the cocktail glass, carefully applying ink to the top of the "beverage" in Pale Papaya, then Soft Succulent on the bottom, one stamped I coloured to the edge of the glass with the corresponding Stampin' Blend, then coloured the lime wedge and umbrella. After die cutting "Cocktails" I coloured the bottom with the Dark Pale Papaya Blend, and blended towards the top with the light blend. I also added a sentiment to the inside of the card. Here's hoping for a short lockdown, and in the mean time if you need inspiration check out the challenge blogs to get your mojo up and running. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month.  I’ve listed the products I u...

Nothing's betther than ........ purrfect!

Some fun with a pun today, I've combined a sentiment from "Nothing's better than" stamp set and an image from the Playful Pets DSP with some help from Playful Alphabet dies. I felt like a change from flowers, and looked at some sets I haven't used for a while, then saw my DSP pile just looking at me saying #loveitchopit. I'm partial to cats, this one reminds me of our Ragdoll, Cinder as he stretches out making himself comfortable - oh to be a cat some days and get comfy and have that perfect lazy day..... pretty much most of his days as he's now older and is always found in a cozy place unless it's time for food! I cut the letters in Flirty Flamingo, Playful Alphabet is just fabulous as it has extra common letters, so I had 2 "R's" so everything was cut in one pass in the die cut machine. I'm now thinking of more puns and words that I can use with this DSP.... so stay tuned! Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my pro...
