Ink it Stamp it | Kissing Technique

How quickly time flies, can you believe it is Ink it! Stamp it! Technique time again?  This month each of the team is sharing a technique with you, I must admit, I love trying new techniques, they can be invaluable to your crafting, and are a great way to stretch your creativity too. I've decided to share the Kissing Technique with you today, it's a super simple technique that works especially well with a stamp with a large solid area.  In short, you ink up one stamp, then press it onto a second stamp, resulting in a stamped image featuring the pattern of your first stamp.  Here's a step by step picture tutorial to guide you through the process: Step 1  Ink your "solid image", in this example I'm using the Thank You sentiment from Accented Blooms Step 2 Press the  "solid image" onto your patterned image, I'm using the Hardwood background stamp You can see below how the ink from the "solid image" has...

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop | Special Guest Janet Wakeland

Welcome to today's Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with the amazing Janet Wakeland - you are such an inspiration Janet, I love your crafting, and your stunning photograpy - my favourites would be your eagle photos, and of course Teague & Marburg, they are so entertaining! I chose the below card for CASEing today, I was drawn to the layout, and the weather background. Now for what I was inspired to create!  I created my background using the Hardwood background , inking in both black and Rich Razzleberry, to create a weathered look I used the "splatter" stamp (that's what I call it anyway) from the Touches of Texture stamp set, applying in Pink Pirouette and 3rd generation Rich Razzleberry, then I lightly sponged the edge with Rich Razzleberry too. I had forgotten that I had the Metallic Foil Doilies til I reorganised my craft room a couple of weeks ago - amazing what you find when to take this task on! The large doily layered perfectly with ...

Hey Chick! Crazy Crafters Blog Hop | Special Guest Georgia Giguere

Welcome to our Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Georgia Giguere, the first thing that I notice when visiting Stampin' Georgia is chickens, then I saw this project: That was all the inspiration I needed to break open my Sale-A-Bration Hey Chick stamp set, here is what I have created: This fuzzy headed chicken is my favourite, such a cheeky look! I stamped and coloured with watercolour pencils  and a Blender Pen  then fussy cut.  The Hardwood stamp is a fantastic background stamp, I've used Early Espresso on Cherry Cobbler for my wood panel and cut a square to create a window and added some mesh fabric to create wire (I got the idea after seeing Tulle window cards made by Jennifer McQuire).  The Banners for You bundle was just perfect to fit the "hey, chick!" sentiment, and then I added a little Linen Thread . Here is a close up of the mesh panel: Be sure you hop all the way around our Crazy Crafters hop and see all the incr...

Gorgeous Grunge | Hardwood | Ink Pad holder

Howdy everyone, I've been really busy today with a project that I have been wanting to do for months!  So why today, well I started to clean up and reorganise my crafting area, then when I created a space, inspiration hit - and that was it for cleaning up, but I did manage to finish this: I picked the craft wood turntable from a clearance rack in a craft store back in the new year, had the idea that it would be great for storing my ink pads and other regularly used items. Apart from roughly putting it together to make sure I had all the parts, I didn't get much further Initially my plan was to paint and then decorate with DSP, but then today I got the idea of stamping.  I reached for my Gorgeous Grunge  set without blinking and started - oh my there are lots of parts when you start stamping! I needed something more, then again, inspiration, why not use the Hardwood  Background stamp - it worked a treat.  For the larger sections...
